Leeds enter their cup game against Norwich in excellent form, looking reformed under Garry Monk with 6 wins in their last 9 games.

Leeds haven't lost at Elland Road since the start of September and will hope to reach the quarter finals of the EFL Cup against Championship rivals Norwich.

Norwich are in impressive form as well sitting 2nd in the table but the 1-0 away win at Wolves for Leeds on Saturday lifted them to 10th, just 3 points off the play-offs.

Their defence looks solid compared to previous seasons with Pontus Jansson looking like an excellent signing, instilling leadership and passion into the line-up.

They are likely to rest a few players and give some youngsters a chance like they did in the last round, but Monk will see this as an excellent chance to make significant progress at a major tournament.

Here is the likely XI for Tuesday's game.....

GK - Marco Silvestri

The Italian shot stopper was the Leeds number 1 a few seasons ago, but his awful form last season saw Monk bring in the experienced Robert Green to fill in.

Green has been consistent so far and kept Silvestri, out limiting him to cup matches and he can hope that if Leeds go far in the EFL Cup he can stake a claim for a return to the first team.

RB - Lewie Coyle

Coyle is an excellent young full back currently mirroring Luke Ayling who is holding down the first team place ahead of him.

Coming through the Leeds academy, his game time has been limited to just a loan spell at Harrogate and after making 11 appearances last season he is getting closer to the first team.

He is limited to cup appearances but it would be a good chance to impress the manager.

LB - Charlie Taylor

The young left back was a bit of an outcast in the summer, as his contract was running down and he was pushing for a move to the Premier League.

He was kept against his will but he has buckled down well this season and has played solidly so far.

CB - Kyle Bartley

His loan move from Swansea has so far proved fruitful with the 25-year-old playing 14 games alongside Pontus Jansson.

Both of them are strong, physically imposing players with Bartley playing well under ex-manager Monk, and another towering display will be expected tomorrow.

CB - Liam Cooper

The Scottish defender may find game time a struggle this season with Jansson and Bartley playing so well, so tomorrow will be a good opportunity to impress the boss as Jansson gets a rest.

Cooper has similar attributes but lacks experience and composure on the ball, Jansson has been one of the Championship's best defenders so far but deserves a rest.

CM - Kalvin Phillips

Another one of Leeds' young stars that has broken through with the 20-year-old slowly integrating in the first team.

With Diagarouga struggling and Bridcutt out of form, the youngster has been excellent and Monk has faith in him.

His power and pace makes him the driving engine of the Leeds side.

CM - Eunan O'Kane

The Irish midfielder was a last day signing from Bournemouth in the summer and fans have been impressed with his displays so far.

He has played very well in a 3 this season with Ronaldo Viera and Kalvin Phillips, but can also play as a defensive midfielder using his passing and tackling to distribute the ball forward.

LM - Alex Mowatt

Hadi Sacko and Pablo Hernandez have looked outstanding down the flanks so far this season, with their pace and flair exciting the fans.

Mowatt is an academy product with a great future and a good display here will help him nail down a starting position.

RM - Kemar Roofe

The former Oxford United striker scored 18 goals last season in League 2 and won Player of the Season and fans were excited when he arrived in the summer.

This is definitely an opportunity for Roofe to impress.

ST - Chris Wood

The New Zealand international has been outstanding for Leeds so far and he has 6 goals this season.

He is powerful and quick for a big man and can work a 2 but is mainly the focal point for the Leeds attack this season.

He will hope to add to his total on Tuesday.

ST - Marcus Antonsson

Monk seems to of opted to play Wood up front on his own and support them with wingers, so the big Swede has found his chances limited.

Antonsson has 2 goals in 8 games including one in an earlier round of the EFL Cup and a partnership up front with Wood would be to powerful for Norwich to handle.
