In what would normally be a quiet two weeks for Football League clubs during the international break, it has been anything but that in the Welsh capital.

The club secured their prime target Neil Warnock last week as the club’s new manager, following the sacking of Paul Trollope.

Not only that, they have made four new additions to the squad to try and boost their chances of climbing out of the relegation zone.

Junior Hoilett, Sol Bamba, Kieran Richardson and Marouane Chamakh have linked up with the Bluebirds to try and re-ignite their careers after all four were released for free from their respected clubs.

The Bluebirds are deep in trouble, and it will be Neil Warnock’s job to raise the club’s game as they take on an in-form Bristol City in the Severnside derby.

Lee Johnson’s men have won their last three consecutive games as they sit in 5th place in the Championship.

However, with the wealthy amount of additions to the Bluebirds squad and staff, the atmosphere is set to be electric at the Cardiff City stadium and FLW Writer, Ashley Williams predicts the Cardiff City XI to beat Bristol City..

GK – Ben Amos

This will be a big opportunity to show what Amos can do for his new manager.

The man on loan from Bolton Wanderers has been fairly steady during his loan with the Bluebirds, but what better way to make a name for yourself in front of a manager like Neil Warnock and against arguably Cardiff’s second rivals.

RB – Lee Peltier

I expect the right back to resume his place at right back, even though he has been fairly unconvincing during the opening 11 games of the season.

Likewise to Amos, Peltier will be another player who will be under the watchful eye of Warnock to determine whether he deserves a starting spot at the South Wales club.

CB – Sol Bamba

The Ivory Coast international will help bolster the Cardiff defence that has conceded 19 league goals this season to leave them 23rd in the Championship.

Warnock is a big admirer of the central defender after trying to sign him on several occasion when he was at Leicester City.

What Cardiff lack at the moment is a leader, and Sol is certainly that, who will aim to steady the ship of the Cardiff City back-four.

CB – Sean Morrison

The captain is expected to partner Sol Bamba at the back and it will be interesting to see what sort of partnership they form.

Morrison has failed to step up to the plate so far as Cardiff City captain and if he continues his inconsistent performances, Warnock will have no worries of stripping him of his captaincy.

Big game for the centre back on Friday night.

LB – Kieran Richardson

Richardson

The former Aston Villa full back is expected to go straight into the side after signing a short-term deal until January.

The deal suggests that he will under a probationary period to see if he is worthy enough to cement a place under Neil Warnock.

The former Manchester United player was a free agent after leaving Aston Villa during the summer and has been training with the Bluebirds for a considerable time.

RW – Craig Noone

Craig NooneCraig Noone

The winger has been Cardiff’s only bright spark over the past couple of weeks, and Warnock will have analysed every single of Cardiff’s games in the Championship affairs and will see that he can get something out of Noone for the season.

Noone has been criticised for becoming too predictable at the start of the term, but under Warnock he could become his former self.

CM – Joe Ralls

The young central midfielder has nowhere near hit his best form yet, and should be given a chance to show his true abilities under Warnock.

Ralls was arguably Cardiff’s best player during the second half of last season and needs to show his abilities under Warnock.

CM – Peter Whittingham

Whittingham is a key player for Cardiff, who can create goals from his excellent deliveries from set pieces.

However, he still needs to offer more in the middle of the park and can not just be relied on for his set-pieces.

All of the Cardiff players will be under trial tonight from Warnock, who will not be afraid to drop any player in the squad if they are underperforming.

LW – Junior Hoilett

hoilett33

This will be a big opportunity for Hoilett to kick start his career at Cardiff City.

He was once dubbed as the next big star by FIFA in 2012, and he has fallen off the fence in recent years during his time with QPR.

Warnock is a big admirer of Hoilett and he could be the missing link in Cardiff’s midfield.

ST – Marouane Chamakh

chamakh

Another player, who has not shown his capabilities in English football yet.

Like Richardson, Warnock hasn’t signed him on a short-term deal as he may be undecided whether he wants to keep the player in the future.

The 32-year-old was released by Crystal Palace in the summer and is reunited with Neil Warnock.

ST – Rickie Lambert

Rickie Lambert

The former West Bromwich Albion has already bagged himself two goals for the Bluebirds since moving to South Wales on deadline day.

Despite his age, Lambert still has enough in the tank to fire the Bluebirds away from the relegation zone and this will be the perfect time to show the fans that he can score prolifically.
