Steve Bruce has turned Villa’s fortunes around of late, with them going four games unbeaten, winning two of them, which has fired them up to 15th place, much closer to where they want to be, come May.

Villa will be disappointed with last week’s Midlands derby heartache, where they squandered a 1-0 lead away at Birmingham, in what would’ve been a big win for them, but they had to settle for a point.

Villa will go into the game with a struggling Blackburn side, full of confidence after their unbeaten run.

Another win on Saturday would move Villa up another few places and get them far closer to the Play-Offs.

Steve Bruce seems to have rejuvenated some of the players in the Villa side, but they will have to be on their guard come Saturday, with Sam Gallagher currently in fine form for Rovers.

If Villa play this 4-4-2 formation on Saturday, they will smash Blackburn…

Pierluigi Gollini

The Italian shot stopper has been in good form of late but only has one clean sheet in four games under Bruce.

However, he should get a clean sheet on Saturday, with Bruce likely to be eyeing this game as a must win, Villa will deliver a top performance on Saturday and blow Blackburn away.

He has a quality centre half pairing in front of him which will reduce the amount of shots he faces.

Alan Hutton

Hutton has been a regular under Bruce and is likely to retain his position on Saturday.

The experienced full back will bring all his knowledge to the dressing room and that could prove key if Villa are to succeed this season.

He can get up and down the line and deliver crosses into the box, whilst also being defensively solid, he has all the attributes to make him the perfect modern day full back.

Tommy Elphick

Elphick took the step down from the Premier League to come and play for Villa, which really highlights the stature of Villa as a club.

Elphick is an old fashioned centre half who will put his body on the line for points, he throws himself at every cross and defends for his life.

He will most likely regain his position on Saturday, after being absent for a few weeks.

His partnership alongside Chester, could be key in Villa’s run in, if they can keep clean sheets, they definitely have the attacking capabilities to win games.

James Chester

chesterchesterd

Chester is another player Villa signed in the summer who took the step down from the top flight to play for Villa.

The Welsh international could be a key figure for Villa this season and he is someone who Bruce knows from his time at Hull.

Chester compliments Elphick well, with both putting everything on the line for points, Chester also has the ability to play football as well and he isn’t frightened to take the ball under pressure, something Bruce likes.

He could be a key figure in Saturday's game as he will have the task of keeping Sam Gallagher quiet.

Jordan Amavi

amaviamavi0

Amavi had a blistering start to Villa’s campaign last season but he suffered a nasty injury not long after the opening day, and he was out for the rest of the season.

He made his return this year and looks as though he is now beginning to find his form of last season.

Amavi likes to bomb up and down the wing and help support the attack and he has a quality final ball too, something the Villa strikers will thrive off.

Albert Adomah

Adomah is yet another player who has dropped down a level to play for Villa.

He signed in a deal over the summer which saw Adama Traore move the other way.

Adomah is blessed with great pace which he often utilises going forward.

He can provide Bruce with the creativity out wide, but also the work rate in defence, something that is key when playing under Bruce.

Adomah likes to play down the right wing put can play either, given the fact he has two strong feet.

Ashley Westwood

Westwood was one of only a handful of Villa players who were linked with a move away from Villa Park to stay in the Premier League.

It was widely rumoured that Westwood would join Premier League newcomers, Burnley.

Westwood fits well into a Bruce team, given the fact he is so comfortable in possession.

Playing alongside a more attacking player in Gary Gardner, could work well for Westwood so he can dictate play in midfield without being tied to support the attack.

Gary Gardner

gary-gardner00

Gardner has excelled under Bruce, putting in some good performances so far including a derby goal on Sunday too.

Gardner has spent large parts of his Villa career on loan, most recently at Nottingham Forest but under Bruce he seems to have found a regular spot.

Gardner is a tidy player in centre midfield but he has the capability to spark a game into life, whether that is through a goal or an assist.

Playing alongside Westwood gives him more of a license to go forward and this suits him.

Jordan Ayew

jordan-ayews

Ayew is someone who so far, is yet to fully establish himself under Bruce, but he could play a key role on Saturday.

Ayew can play on either wing and possesses most of the key attributes to be a good winger.

To play under Bruce, Ayew will have to up his work rate significantly but it is something he looks to already be doing.

He can breeze past defenders with ease and has the end product to supply the strikers.

If Villa can get him in the game on Saturday and get him running at the Blackburn defence he could be key.

Jonathan Kodjia

jonathan-kodjiajonathan-kodjiadddd

Kodjia has excelled under Bruce, scoring three in four, including the winner against Fulham.

Kodjia signed for Villa in the summer from Bristol City in what was a Championship record fee.

He has a frightening amount of pace to get in behind defences, something which all defenders hate.

His game isn’t just limited to running in behind though, he can also come towards the ball, which can cause confusion amongst the oppositions defence and midfield.

Kodjia will be hoping to get on the score sheet again on Saturday, playing against what is a poor Blackburn defence.

Rudy Gestede

gestedeeee90

Gestede has been a bit part player for Villa, with him struggling to nail down a starting place week in week out.

Gestede will compliment Kodjia well, with his strength in the air, he can have Kodjia running off him, something which could work well for Villa.

One of his biggest strengths is holding the ball up well and bringing others into play.

Gestede also offers a huge threat in the air when crosses come into the box and with Villa’s quality out wide, he is never short of service.

The ex-Blackburn man will be out to haunt his former team on Saturday, gaining his team three valuable points along the way.
