Kenny Jackett earned his first point as Rotherham United manager last weekend as his team drew 2-2 away at Ipswich Town.

The Millers were extremely unlucky not to come away from Portman Road with all three points, but a superb strike from David McGoldrick drew Ipswich level in the dying seconds of the game.

On a whole it was a much improved performance by The Millers and is a solid base for them to build on going into this weekend's fixture with Preston North End.

Rotherham currently sit rock bottom of the Sky Bet Championship after picking up just 1 win from the opening 15 league games.

Kenny Jackett must field this starting eleven in order to beat Preston this Saturday......

GK - Lee Camp

Lee CampLee Campdd

Despite being the undisputed number one at the club, Lee Camp certainly hasn't been at his best for The Millers so far throughout this campaign.

The former Bournemouth shot stopper will no doubt be in between the sticks again this Saturday when The Millers face off against Preston and will be desperate to put in a good performance and come away with a clean sheet.

LB - Joe Mattock

Joe Mattock009822

Consistent full back Joe Mattock would retain his starting place at left back for this one in my preferred Rotherham United XI.

The former Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City man has spent the majority of his career at Championship level and his expierence will be vital if The Millers are to pick up a win this weekend.

CB - Dael Fry

mitree9922

Middelsbrough loaned Dael Fry is getting better with every passing game and looks to be growing into his role at the club.

Fry is someone is highly regarded back at The Riverside Stadium and has been touted as a future first teamer for Aitor Karanka's men.

CB - Richard Wood

woodwood

Experienced centre back Richard Wood has been brought back into the starting eleven by new boss Kenny Jackett and has excelled so far.

You can expect to see him in the starting eleven again this weekend as The Millers face off against Preston.

RB - Darnell Fisher

darnell-fisherc

Fisher was brought in from Scottish giants Celtic by Alan Stubbs in the summer and has taken to life with Rotherham United very well.

He is put in some consistently sold displays this season and looks to be getting better with every passing game.

At just the age of 22, Fisher has plenty of time to improve and he looks like he could become a leading Championship full back in the future.

LM - Joe Newell

Former Peterborough man Joe Newell would get the left midfield role in my preferred Rotherham United XI.

Since signing from Peterborough last season, Newell has become a big favourite with the Rotherham fans, Newell is one of the creative forces in this Rotherham United team as he has excellent technical ability, accompanied with great vision.

Newell made 38 appearances for The Millers last season, scoring 5 times in the process.

CM - Dominic Ball

dominic ball

Versatile Dominic Ball would be deployed in a midfield role for this upcoming game against Preston in my preferred Rotherham United XI.

With Lee Frecklington and Greg Halford both big doubts for the weekend it leaves somewhat limited options meaning that natural centre back Ball, would have to step into midfield.

CM - Will Vaulks

will-vaulkswill-vaulks

Will Vaulks would be chosen to partner Ball in midfield in my Rotherham United XI as I believe his energy and work rate would bring a good balance to the midfield area.

Vaulks was another summer signing and has so far displayed a great range of passing as well as a wicked long shot.

Injuries have meant that Vaulks is likely to get an extended run in the midfield area and he will be desperate to take his chance.

RM - Jon Taylor

jon-taylord

Jon Taylor is probably one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment as he gives the team a great outlet with his pace and dribbling ability.

Taylor became the club record signing when he signed from Peterborough this summer, and is clearly desperate to start repaying some of that fee.

The former Shrewsbury man has already netted three times so far this season and will be desperate to get his name on the scoresheet again this weekend.

ST - Danny Ward

danny-warddss

Despite the club as a whole struggling, Danny Ward is having a fantastic season on a personal level.

The former Huddersfield man has already scored 8 league goals this season meaning he currently sits as the 4th highest goalscorer in the league.

Ward is certainly on course to have the best season of his career so far, in terms on goalscoring, as he needs just 3 more goals to better his previous record of 10 goals in a season, which came during the 2013-2014 campaign when playing for Huddersfield.

ST - Peter Odemwingie

odemwingied

The former West Brom and Stoke City man made his Rotherham United debut last week as a late substitute during the 2-2 draw away at Ipswich Town, and could well be in line to make his full debut for the club this weekend.

There is a great sense of excitement around the fanbase to see a player who has been capped over 50 times for Nigeria in a Rotherham United shirt, and I'm sure many fans will be keen to see him start this weekend.
