By Norwich City's standards, it's been a fairly disappointing start to the Championship campaign.

Alex Neil's men looked set to romp to promotion to the Premier League the first time of asking, after some shrewd acquisitions in the summer, the likes of Alex Pritchard and Sergi Canos to name a couple.

However, Canaries have made an average start, winning twice, drawing twice, and losing once, which as far as they're concerned, isn't the greatest of starts.

On the other hand, games come thick and fast in the Championship season, and on Saturday, City meet a Cardiff side at Carrow Road, who are also short on confidence, winning just once this campaign, whilst also losing and drawing twice.

Here, FLW writer George Harbey names his starting XI that is undoubtedly capable of beating Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.....

GK: Michael McGovern

McGovern has been brilliant between the sticks whilst acting as a replacement for John Ruddy, after signing from Hamilton Academical in the summer.

RB: Ivo Pinto

Pinto

Since signing from Dinamo Zagreb in January, the Portuguese attacking right back has been a revelation at Carrow Road.

Expect to see Pinto start against the Bluebirds.

CB: Timm Klose

Klose

It was an incredible coup in itself keeping Klose at the Anglia club this term, after being influential at the back for the Canaries last term.

CB: Ryan Bennett

Partnering Klose at the back is the 26-year-old, who has made 59 appearances since joining from local rivals Peterborough United in 2012.

LB: Robbie Brady

It still comes as a somewhat shock as to how Norwich have managed to keep Brady under their ranks.

The versatile wide-man is a key player for Alex Neil's men, so expect to see the Euro 2016 star play for the Canaries against Cardiff.

RM: Sergi Canos

The former Barcelona and Liverpool youngster was instrumental for Brentford last term, and Alex Neil managed to pursue the signature of the highly rated 19-year-old in the summer.

His creativity is superb and he is a pivotal component in Alex Neil's side.

CM: Jonny Howson

Jonny Howsond

Having made 136 appearances for the Canaries since joining from Leeds in 2012, the 28-year-old looks to play yet another formidable role in the middle of the park once again for City this time around.

CM: Alexander Tettey

Alex Tetteyd

The Norwegian international has endured an eventful time to say the least at Carrow Road, having been involved in both Norwich's promotion and relegation campaigns, making 107 appearances for the Canaries.

LM: Alex Pritchard

The 23- year-old finally managed to seal a permanent move in his career, after magnificent loan spells at Swindon Town and Brentford in the last three years.

He is an incredible acquisition for Alex Neil's men.

CAM: Wes Hoolahan

The Irish international manages to step it up a notch every single year it seems, having been the shining light for City last term, as well as the early stages of this campaign too.

The 34- year-old has 258 appearances for Norwich under his belt, netting 39 times.

ST: Nelson Oliveira

Saturday afternoon could well be the day that the Portuguese international makes his debut for the Canaries, after recently penning a four-year deal at Carrow Road on deadline day.

Oliveria enjoyed a fine loan spell at Nottingham Forest last term, netting 10 times in 28 games.
