Newcastle are looking for a tenth win a row in all competitions, when they face relegation threatened Blackburn at the weekend.

Newcastle are in incredible form under Rafa Benitez and are undefeated since September, with 6 consecutive home wins.

They sit top of the league, clear of 3rd placed Reading by 9 points and most would agree they are on their way to the title.

They are the top scorers in the division by a distance with 36 goals scored with a large contribution from the league's top scorer Dwight Gayle, who has 13 goals.

Their defence is one of the divisions best as well with only 13 goals conceded and centre back Jamaal Lascelles has been backed for big things.

Jonjo Shelvey has been imperious in midfield and is amongst the best players in the division.

Stopping Newcastle seems an impossible task and Blackburn who have lost their last 3 away games, face an almighty task.

Here is the Newcastle XI that will demolish Blackburn at St James' Park on Saturday.....

GK - Karl Darlow

karl-darlowddddds

The 26- year-old goalkeeper has been engrossed in an intense battle for the Number 1 spot all season, with summer signing Matt Selz.

But recently the former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper has been favoured, and Newcastle's excellent defensive record would give little reason for Benitez to make a change.

Darlow has been solid between the sticks and with only 3 goals conceded since the start of October, he is in good form.

LB - Paul Dummett

Paul DummetPaul Dummet

24-year-old local lad Paul Dummett has been with Newcastle since graduating from their academy in 2010, and is now a regular starter.

Dummett has plenty of Premier League experience for Newcastle.

He is an essential part of the defensive unit and has become a good attacking unit as well.

RB - DeAndre Yedlin

Yedlin picked up plenty of Premier League experience with Tottenham and Sunderland before his move to Newcastle.

He has fierce competition for his spot with Vurnon Anita and the United States international didn't start at the weekend.

From the performances so far, Yedlin looks a lot better defensively than Anita and provides a good outlet.

CB - Jamaal Lascelles

lascelles

One of the most impressive players for Newcastle has been Lascelles who arrived from Nottingham Forest in 2014.

He has formed a good partnership with Ciaran Clark.

CB - Ciaran Clark

The former Aston Villa centre back Ciaran Clark looked terribly exposed in the Premier League last year, but has re-found his level since his move to Newcastle.

Clark has been one of Newcastle's most impressive performers, showing impressive tackling ability and leadership, ultimately keeping Grant Hanley out of the side.

The Republic of Ireland international looks an early certainty for team for the season.

CM - Jonjo Shelvey

Whilst the defensive partnership of Lascelles and Clark has been immensely important for Newcastle, the midfield prowess of Jonjo Shelvey has been impressive as well.

His passing and vision is Premier League quality as he excellently protects the defence whilst also picking out key passes.

CM - Jack Colback

Another former Sunderland player doing well at Newcastle is Jack Colback who has formed a good partnership with Shelvey.

Newcastle have plenty of options here to partner Shelvey but he shows greater consistency than Mohammed Diame and Isaac Hayden.

Colback also has far more experience at Premier League level so is the best to play with Shelvey.

LM - Yoan Gouffran

Gouffran has found a new lease of life this season for Newcastle with 3 goals and 2 assists. Many felt he would leave Newcastle in the summer after barely playing for the Toon in the Premier League but he seems very good at this level.

He scored a crucial winner against Derby earlier in the season and Gouffran has been a regular starter.

RM - Matt Ritchie

Matt RitchieMatt Ritchied

The Scot made the drop from Premier League Bournemouth after being one of their most impressive assets.

The winger has 2 goals and 5 assists so far and has experience in winning promotion from the Championship with Bournemouth.

Ritchie has incredible pace and good dead ball ability being one of the best crossers in the league.

He has a sweet strike on him as well and is good from free kicks.

CAM - Ayoze Perez

The Spaniard has 3 goals and 2 assists so far, impressing fans and keeping Mitrovic out of the team.

The young Spaniard is attracting interest from some big sides and compatriot Benitez has him central to his plans.

His pace and link up play with front man Dwight Gayle has been good to watch this season and it's looking like an excellent breakthrough season for Perez.

ST - Dwight Gayle

Gayle was a big money signing from Premier League Crystal Palace where he had struggled to establish himself.

He has found his confidence again at Newcastle, scoring an impressive 13 goals with his brace at the weekend sending them clear at the top.

He is quick and an excellent finisher and seems a shoe in for top scorer this season.
