Despite plenty of ambition being shown by Wolves' new owners over the summer, it's not been the best of starts for the Midlands side.

Still they brought in some talented players such as Monaco's Ivan Cavaleiro and Benfica due Helder Costa and Joao Teixeira along with Bodvarsson and Oniangue.

After the surprise sacking of Kenny Jackett, the relatively unknown Walter Zenga was brought in which fans were fairly critical of.

But he got off to a good enough start picking up wins over Reading and Birmingham, and were undefeated in their opening 4 games.

But criticism has grown for Zenga in recent weeks after defeats too Huddersfield and a crushing 4-0 home defeat to Barnsley.

The main criticism aimed at Zenga is his constant tinkering of the first team, which has seen the defence constantly changed with Richard Stearman proving a woeful loan move.

Wolves fans would like to see some of their new signings given a chance and Zenga will need a result against high flying Newcastle to appease the fans.

This is the Wolves XI that will beat Newcastle on Saturday....

GK - Carl Ikeme

ikeme

Even though he hasn't exactly been imperious between the sticks, Ikeme must surely still be the first choice keeper still.

Second choice Andy Lonergan was fairly disappointing for Fulham last season, and despite a few errors from Ikeme he has been let down by his defence.

Ikeme is very experienced having played for 10 clubs and has made 163 appearances for Wolves mainly in the Championship but has Premier League experience.

On his day he has excellent composure, handling skills and makes stunning saves but only 2 clean sheets this season is a concern. But when the defence become a bit more consistent Ikeme should see these figures improve.

LB - Matt Doherty

Matt DohertyMatt Dohertyss

One of the more consistent players for Wolves last and this season is Irish full back Matt Doherty, who broke through in 2010 and has made over 100 appearances for the club.

He made 34 appearances last season and won Goal of the Season, with the 24-year-old consolidating himself in the back line.

RB - Dominic Iorfa

Dominic Iorfad

Iorfa is one of the most promising young full-backs in England, and at the age of 21 is very much a regular in the first team now for Wolves.

He broke out in the 14/15 season winning numerous Young Player awards and also making his debut's for the England youth teams, and is tipped for a big international future.

He was fairly consistent last season but fans have criticised him this season for some inconsistent displays.

His pace makes him a big asset going forward but defensively he is still inexperienced.

CB - Kortney Hause

hause

Hause like Iorfa is another young 21- year-old defender that only recently made their big breakthrough at the club, and Hause is also tipped for a big Premier League future and for England.

CB - Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

Manchester United youngster Cameron Borthwick Jackson completes the youthful defence having impressed in his debut against Burton Albion.

Also the shambolic displays of Danny Batth this season has put his place under threat and young Borthwick-Jackson deserves a chance to shine.

CM - Romain Saiss

mitremitrech

With the 26-year-old defensive midfielder finally being fit we may finally see him in action and the fans are eager to see what he can do.

The Frenchman is experienced having played in Ligue 1 and 2 for Angers and Le Havre respectively and attracted praise for his defensive displays, and gives Wolves an alternative to Conor Coady who has been inconsistent thus far.

The Moroccan international is known for his strength on the ball and is a commanding presence who can pick a pass as well protecting the defence.

CM - Prince Oniangue

The Wolves midfielder was purchased from French side Reims where he had scored 17 goals in 94 appearances, showing good ability going forward and Wolves fans were enthused by the signing.

Oniangue is similar to Saiss in how he reads the game and acts as a destroyer in the middle of the park and recycles the ball.

CAM - Helder Costa

mitreeeeeeee

Instead of playing in a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2, Wolves should try a 4-5-1 formation and surround front man Bodvarsson with pacy attacking players.

Only when fellow striker Dicko returns should Wolves even contemplate going with a 4-4-2.

LW - Ola John

Ola JohnOla John

Another player the fans want to see in action is Ola John.

Wolves have plenty of options in this position and have opted for Joe Mason so far but he is struggling and Wolves fans will want a new signing to get a chance.

Ivan Cavaleiro, Joao Teixeira and Helder Costa are all capable of playing here but John is the most experienced having played for Reading, Hamburg and Benfica.

RW - Jed Wallace

wallaceeee

One of the few players performing well for Wolves this season is former Portsmouth starlet Jed Wallace who has 1 goal and 3 assists so far.

Even though he under-performed against Barnsley, the whole team did and he deserves to keep his place even if Teixeira, Costa and Cavaleiro are knocking at the door.

ST - Jon Bodvarsson

bodvarssondd

The Icelandic striker is Wolves' only real option up front with Nouha Dicko still struggling for fitness.

The Icelandic star is quite a mobile player and has started well for Wolves bagging 2 goals in 4 games.
