Arguably Barnsley should be coming into this game as favourites, with the Tykes currently flying high in 3rd place in the Sky Bet Championship table while Wolves currently sit in 12th place.

Wolves have had a steady start to this campaign providing the amount of changes that were made in the summer, with the owners and manager both changing as well as a number of new players being brought through the door at Molinuex.

Barnsley have been one of the surprise packages this season, and Paul Heckingbottom will be hoping for another three points in the Midlands on Tuesday evening.

Due to home advantage Wolves will be coming into this one as favourites in my opinion ,and this article takes a look at the 4-2-3-1 formation that will comfortably defeat Barnsley on Tuesday night...

GK - Carl Ikeme

ikeme

Carl Ikeme will continue in goal for this one and will hope to continue his steady start to the season, by keeping Barnsley's potent strike force at bay this Tuesday and keep a clean sheet.

The 30-year-old has made 137 appearances for Wolves, having graduated from the youth academy in 2003.

RB - Dominic Iorfa

Dominic Iorfad

Dominic Iorfa is currently one of the brightest prospects in the Football League, and is someone who'll surely be being watched by a number of Premier League clubs.

Iorfa is a big, strong, athletic full back and has all the physical attributes to make it to the very top of the game, he is a current England under-21 international and is rated very highly on the international scene.

CB - Danny Batth

batth

Local lad Danny Batth is a huge fans favourite at Molinuex, he rose through the youth academy at Wolves and has gone onto make close to 150 appearances for the club and has been a consistently solid figure in the back four.

He is a big commanding centre back and looks set to keep his place for the game against Barnsley.

CB -Richard Stearman

Richard Stearmanm

The 29-year-old made 212 appearances for Wolves before signing for Fulham last term, however after enduring a tough time at Craven Cottage, he has returned to Molineux, on a season long loan.

After resuming his partnership with Danny Batth during the last game with Burton Albion he looks set to continue alongside Batth in the centre of defence.

LB - Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is a defender who is very highly rated by all at Manchester United and has joined Wolves on a season long loan, with the hope of him gaining valuable first team experience to aid his development.

He has already made 14 appearances for the Manchester United first team and is seen as one of their brightest prospects.

CM - Conor Coady

Conor CoadyConor Coady

Ball winning midfielder Conor Coady would be the lynchpin holding the team together in my Wolves XI.

Coady would be deployed in a central midfield role, sitting in front of the back four acting as a shield for the two centre backs to provide extra cover, and allow the attacking trio in front of him license to roam and attack with freedom.

Coady has bite in the tackle and is a strong physical presence who will look to control the midfield battle.

CM - Prince Oniangué

mitreeeee

Fresh off his first goal for the club during the 1-1 draw with newly promoted Burton Albion, Prince Oniangue would retain his place in the centre of midfield for the game against Barnsley.

Oniangue is a new signing at Molinuex this season after penning a four year deal at the club after signing for an undisclosed fee from Ligue 1 side Reims, Oniangue will be keen to show the fans he has what it takes to be a big player for the club this season.

LW - Ivan Cavaleiro

The former Benfica and Monaco man would be given another opportunity to impress from the start in this one, and would get a starting role on the left hand side of the attacking trio.

Cavaleiro has clear quality and will be keen to repay the hefty transfer fee that it took for Wolves to bring the 22-year-old to the club.

CAM - Joe Mason

masonnnnnn

25-year-old Joe Mason would be given a starting role as a floating playmaker in the CAM position in my Wolves XI, Mason would be given license to roam and take up dangerous positions in and around the opposition penalty area.

Mason is a big goal threat but also has the passing ability and vision to set up numerous chances for his team-mates.

RW - Ola John

Ola JohnOla John

Pacey winger Ola John excelled when on loan in the Championship last year, and he has returned to the 2nd tier of English football again this year after signing on a season long loan with Wolves.

John is a tricky winger who is excellent with the ball at his feet, and is someone who could pose a real threat in the final third of the opposition half.

ST - Jón Daði Böðvarsson

bodvarssondd

After starting on the bench against Burton Albion, Bodvarsson should be given the starting role as the spearhead of this Wolves attack on Tuesday when they host Barnsley.

Bodvarsson was a summer signing and has already netted twice in five games for his new club.
