As starts go, Walter Zenga's Wolves have done pretty well indeed.

They're still unbeaten going into the next round of fixtures this weekend having picked up an extremely handy draw against Ipswich Town on Tuesday evening.

Backed by new Chinese investors, there is a swagger about the Midlands club that supporters might not have seen for a few years and for some, they believe this campaign may be their chance to do well.

Standing in their way this weekend is local rivals Birmingham City, who will have lofty ambitions of their own. Gary Rowett will be looking to improve on last season's finish having seen his squad struggle in the latter parts of the season.

Both teams go into the game at St Andrews with unbeaten league records and it's set to be an exciting game in the Midlands.

So with that in mind, how are we expecting Wolves to line up this weekend?

Football League World writer Hayden Atkins takes us through his XI that could beat the Blues this weekend.....

GK: Carl Ikeme

The veteran Wolves shot-stopper has been at Molineux long enough to see plenty of managers come and go, but even he might feel that this is their time to shine.

The Nigerian international is expected to play most of the campaign for Zenga's side and we think he'll start this one too.

RB: Dominic Iorfa

iorfaaaaa

Despite having been sent of in Wolves' first game of the season, full-back Dominic Iorfa has really picked up his form and is showing his manager just how good he is.

He's got pace, defends well and for someone who is just 21-years-old, reads the game extremely well too.

Could turn into a real starlet.

CB: Danny Batth

batthhhhh

Wolves captain, we expect Danny Batth to start this one too.

He's the leader of the side and a real organiser from the heart of the defence too.

If the going gets tough at St Andrews, expect Batth to use his experience to help some of the younger players in this side.

It could be a feisty affair and he'll have to keep his head.

CB: Kourtney Hause

hause

Another youngster, Kortney Hause has impressed in what has been his breakthrough season so far.

He was rumoured to be interesting Crystal Palace this summer and you can see why - he's agile, strong in the air and plays with a real maturity alongside his captain.

He'll have to step up once again this weekend, which could be the biggest atmosphere he's ever played in.

LB: Matt Doherty

Matt DohertyMatt Dohertyss

The Irishman has been in solid form as the season has gotten underway, and his goal against Reading last weekend was pure quality.

He looks to be a mainstay in this Wolves side this season, barring injury and that will please Wolves fans.

He's a solid, solid option in defence.

CDM: Prince Oniangué

mitreting

New signing Prince Oniangué is fully expected to come into the side against Birmingham City, and he will be keen to show the travelling Wolves faithful what he can do on his debut.

Signed from French side Reims, he's a tough tackling midfielder who likes to break up the play and move the ball forward.

His midfield duel with Birmingham's Maikel Kieftenbeld could prove crucial in the outcome of this one.

CDM: Dave Edwards

Dave EdwardsDave Edwardsddd

With Oniangue coming into the side, Evans has dropped to the bench for this one and we think Dave Edwards will partner his new team-mate in the middle of the park.

He's Wolves through-and-through and if there is anyone that can show the newbie the ropes, its the Welshman, who will be keen to keep his side's unbeaten run going.

He's played in plenty of games like this in the past and Zenga will be expecting a strong performance from the 30-year-old.

RM/RW: Joe Mason

masonnnn89

Traditionally a striker, former Cardiff City man Joe Mason has done a fantastic job so far, filling in on the flank this season, offering Wolves a really hard-working but deadly option out-wide.

He's already bagged himself one goal, and will be keen to add another against local rivals Birmingham City too.

CAM/CF: George Saville

George Savillemklfcv

Saville has been another player who has been behind a lot of Wolves' good work already this season and he'll be looking to keep his good form going at St Andrews this Saturday.

Despite plenty of incomings, he's been a constant pick on the teamsheet and offers his side a hard-working option in behind the striker.

LM/LW: Brito Teixeira

joão teixeira benfica

The Portuguese winger has often been preferred to Jed Wallace in Zenga's side this season and we think he'll start again for this one.

Jonathan Spector has been asked to play right-back for Birmingham in Paul Caddis' absence, and the skillful 22-year-old could cause some real problems this weekend.

Wolves fans are loving his flair and all he's missing is a goal to really get his season underway.

ST: Jón Daði Böðvarsson

bodvarssondd

Already a fan-favourite following a summer move from Kaiserslautern, the Icelandic international will hope to add to his tally of one against Birmingham this weekend.

He's a big, burly target man who will be relishing a duel against defenders Michael Morrison and Ryan Shotton- a pairing that has only played together for a handful of games this term.
