4-2-3-1: This Wigan Athletic XI could shock Brighton at the DW this weekend

After a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Garry Monk’s Leeds United in midweek, Wigan Athletic will be hoping to push on and pick up more points in the coming weeks, starting with their tie against Brighton this weekend.

The Seagulls are flying high in the Championship, as they so often are these days and will be no easy opponents whatsoever.

But Wigan have a decent home record against Chris Hughton’s side, having won four of their last five home games against Brighton.

And despite being one place away from the bottom of the Championship, the Latics are actually unbeaten in three, having secured a trio of draws on the bounce.

They’ve had it a little tough so far but there is definitely enough quality in their squad to pull away from the relegation zone as the season progresses.

And although it might surprise some, we’re actually tipping Gary Caldwell’s team to pick up all three points against the Seagulls this weekend.

So with that in mind, here’s our Wigan XI that we think will do the business against Brighton this weekend…
