Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed a much-needed victory over Wigan Athletic this weekend, overcoming the Latics 2-1 as they aim to get their Championship campaign going once again.

The Owls hadn't picked up three points since their opening day win over Aston Villa, and it will calm some of the nerves that were somewhat racing around Hillsborough at an increasing pace.

Carlos Carvalhal's side find themselves in 16th in the table but a win against Bristol City on Tuesday evening could see them go rise as far as fourth, if other results go their way.

So with things now looking good for the Owls once again, who should Carvalhal go with after seeing his side triumph this weekend?

Should he mix things up and include some new transfers or should he stay local to the players that brought home three points at Hillsborough on Saturday?

Here's our Sheffield Wednesday line-up that will beat Bristol City on Tuesday evening...

GK: Kieren Westwood

Former Coventry City man Kieren Westwood will be Sheffield Wednesday's number one this season and he's as comfortable as any between the sticks for the Owls.

Couldn't do much about Will Grigg's opener and he's expected to go straight into the starting eleven for the game against Bristol City.

RB: Liam Palmer

Palmer suffered a torrid afternoon in this fixture last season, with the Owls going down 4-1 at Ashton Gate in April.

The Robins were struggling but really outfought Wednesday.

He'll have a point to prove against Lee Johnson's side this time out.

CB: Tom Lees

A pretty obvious choice week-after-week is Tom Lees at centre-back.

The former Leeds man is the main man at the heart of the Wednesday defence and he'll be hoping to prove the doubters wrong after last season's play-off heartbreak.

Kept the likes of Grigg, Le Fondre and Burke pretty quiet on Saturday and it'll be a case of more of the same against Bristol on Tuesday evening.

CB: Sam Hutchinson

hutchinsonnnn

Former Chelsea academy graduate Sam Hutchinson is a player that's looked seriously good for the Owls this season, after struggling to really hold down a first-team berth during the last campaign.

He's finding his feet after a succession of loan moves earlier in his career and seems to have formed a good understanding with Tom Lees.

LB: Daniel Pudil

Succumbed to cramp in the game against Wigan this weekend, but manager Carlos Carvalhal will hope to have the Czech international back for the visit of Wigan on Tuesday.

Pudil offers great attacking strength from left-back and after a busy couple of weeks with international duty, he'll be keen to help Wednesday back towards the top of the division.

CDM: Barry Bannan

Another man that brought a slight knock back with him from international duty, Bannan played 86 minutes during the win over the Latics on Saturday.

Carvalhal will hope the former Villa man will be fit for the midweek game - he's been fantastic for the Owls over the past couple of seasons.

He's got a yard of pace and moves the ball on really well in the middle-of-the-park.

CDM: Kieran Lee

kieran leed

Has been immovable in the Wednesday side this season and last and looks set to be a really important player for the Owls going forward.

He signed a new deal this summer that will see him remain at Hillsborough until at least the summer of 2019.

This is great news for Owls fans, who have really come to rate the former Oldham man.

RM/RW: Fernando Forestieri

forestieriiii

After a summer of transfer requests and controversy, former Watford forward Fernando Forestieri will be hoping to continue to be in with the goals as the season progresses.

He netted in the game against Wigan, and will hope his goalscoring can remind the Owls supporters why he is such an important part of the team going forward.

CAM/CF: Almen Abdi

almen-abdid

Struggled to make a big impact in his opening Sheffield Wednesday games at the start of the season, twice being brought off at half-time.

But the man who signed from Watford earlier this summer has a real point to prove, and put in a decent performance in the hour he got against Wigan.

Plenty more to come from the Swiss international.

Patience is needed but when he gets to full fitness, he'll be a big player for Wednesday.

LM/LW: Ross Wallace

wallaceee99

Ross Wallace is about as experienced as they come at this level and he'll be hoping to help his side to promotion come the end of the season.

The former Preston and Burnley man was a real mainstay in the squad last season, and many are tipping him to kick-on and produce the goods again this time out.

ST: Steven Fletcher

fletcher5544

Bagged the winner against Wigan and this time out, gets the nod over Gary Hooper.

The former Sunderland man is doing well to keep Hooper out of the side and if the goals keep going in, there's no reason why he shouldn't become Wednesday's number one forward for the entirety of the campaign.

Has some making up to do after a disappointing couple of seasons with Marseille and Sunderland and has the perfect chance to star in this Wednesday side.
