It was a bit of a disappointing weekend for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Queens Park Rangers as they could only claim a point against struggling Blackburn Rovers.

Most would have expected a win for Rangers before the match and after taking the lead through a Tjaronn Cherry, many anticipated another three points, only for a Sam Gallagher header to earn a draw with Rovers.

The R's have a chance to bounce back from their weekend disappointment with another home game, this time against high-flying Newcastle.

Rafael Benitez's side have won their last four league games and haven't conceded in three of them, so it will be a tough ask for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

However, QPR have a potentially dangerous attack force and if they can fire against the Toon Army, then there's no reason why Rangers can't go on to win the game.

With that in mind, here is the QPR line-up that will beat Newcastle United on Tuesday evening!

GK: Alex Smithies

Alex Smithiesd

The goalkeeper has started the season in fine form and there is no reason for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to drop the former Huddersfield Town man.

He wasn't at fault for the Blackburn goal and he has been in impressive form ever since his move to Loftus Road in January, so the 26-year-old's place in the line-up should be fairly certain.

Barring a late injury, the former England under-21 international will start between the sticks and will be tasked with keeping out Newcastle's frightening attack.

RB: James Perch

The former Newcastle man is one of those players that gets on with this with minimal fuss and maybe doesn't get the appreciation that his talent deserves.

He has a wealth of experience in England's top two divisions and his knowhow and leadership will be crucial if Rangers are to pull off an unlikely victory against Perch's former side.

The 30-year-old has played five of QPR's six league games this season and he is expected to retain his place in the starting XI as Rangers look to get back to winning ways.

CB: Nedum Onuoha

Nedum Onuohad

The QPR captain has played every minute of every game this season in both the Championship and the EFL Cup, and he has also grabbed himself two goals and an assist.

The towering 29-year-old is another in the QPR line-up who has experience in the top two divisions and he will be crucial to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's hopes of winning this encounter.

As well as dominating at the back, don't be shocked to see the former Manchester City man troubling the Newcastle defence from set-pieces.

CB: Grant Hall

Grant HallGrant Hall

Hall came into the back four to replace the injured Steven Caulker in the 1-0 win over Wigan before the international break, and the former Tottenham man clearly did enough to keep his place in the side.

Picked over the fit again Caulker against Blackburn, Hall will more than likely retain his place alongside Onuoha as Hasselbaink will look to keep the partnership together.

While Caulker has more experience than Hall and could come back into the side, it would be harsh to drop the 24-year-old after a solid display at the weekend.

LB: Jake Bidwell

The summer signing from Brentford has slotted into Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's starting XI with ease and he is quickly becoming an asset in the final third as well as at the back for Rangers.

The Dutchman doesn't have many options to choose from on the left-hand side of the defence so there is a lot of pressure on Bidwell to put in consistently good displays.

While he may need to curb his attacking instincts to deal with the troublesome Matt Ritchie on Tuesday, Bidwell will be an asset for QPR if he is at his best.

CM: Jordan Cousins

A summer signing that went somewhat under the radar at Loftus Road, predominantly due to Cousins' position, the former Charlton man has fitted seamlessly into Hasselbaink's side.

The 22-year-old looks a very astute signing so far for QPR and he could still go very far in the game given his young age and his solid displays for the club so far.

He's set for a busy night dealing with the likes of Mo Diame and Ayoze Perez but he could an important cog in Hasselbaink's starting XI if they are to win this game.

CM: Karl Henry

One of the few Harry Redknapp signings to still be at Loftus Road, the 33-year-old may be advancing in age, but his influence on the game is not diminishing.

Henry is a captain without the armband and his physical, hard-hitting tackles are sure to cause the Newcastle attack some problems and it wouldn't be a shock to see the former Wolves man in the book at some point.

The midfielder has nearly 300 appearances in the Championship and some of the more skilful stars in Newcastle's line-up will be in for a tough night.

RW: Yeni Ngbakoto

The 24-year-old has played five times for QPR since his summer move and he has already scored and claimed an assist for his new side, but missed the game against Blackburn because of a family bereavement.

Should he feel ready to return, Ngbakoto could come in and really add some firepower to the Rangers' forward line, something which, at times, was lacking last weekend.

Abdenasser El Khayati and Pawel Wszolek are both available but they may have to settle for a place on the bench as Ngbakoto could take centre stage.

AM: Tjaronn Chery

Tjaronn Chery

Without a doubt QPR's star, Chery scored yet another impressive goal at the weekend as he gave his side a deserved lead and continued to show just how good he is with the ball at his feet.

His ability to pick out a pass or even score from distance will important for Hasselbaink's side as they're not likely to get many chances to win the game.

Chery can be a bit hit and miss at times but when he is in form, he is arguably one of the most dangerous attacking midfielders in the division.

LW: Olamide Shodipo

The 19-year-old winger has broke into Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's first-team this season and he produced a solid display against Blackburn last weekend.

Hasselbaink clearly has faith in the Republic of Ireland under-21 international and he certainly did enough to keep his place in the starting XI.

Facing Newcastle will be a much harder task for the youngster, but his directness and ability to get past a defender could lead to a crucial moment in the game.

ST: Idrissa Sylla

sylla

Another summer recruit, Sylla made his Hoops debut on SAturday when he replaced Abdenasser El Khayati for the final ten minutes of the match, and he is in line for his first start on Tuesday.

Sebastian Polter didn't reappear for the second half against Blackburn because of injury, and he could miss out in this game as well, while Conor Washington has failed to sparkle since his January move from Peterborough.

It would be a lot to ask of the 25-year-old Guinea international to make his debut against arguably the best side in the division, but the healthy investment in his services shows that Hasselbaink has faith in Sylla.
