High-flying Norwich City were left sitting pretty in second place over the international break.

With a number of players in action for their countries, the Norwich players can return ahead of this weekend's game full of confidence and expecting a win.

On Saturday, Norwich host Rotherham United at Carrow Road and Alex Neil will know that anything less than a victory will be an unsatisfactory result.

The Millers occupy the bottom spot in the Championship having only picked up six points from their opening eleven games.

Alan Stubbs' side have already experienced seven losses this season.

The Canaries will be looking to add to Rotherham's woes and they could go top with a victory, at least until Huddersfield play on Sunday. Norwich's total of 23 points is second only to Huddersfield's 25 so Alex Neil will be desperate to leapfrog the Terriers and go to bed on Saturday with his side at the top of the second tier.

Norwich have a lot of quality in their squad and it should be way too much for Rotherham to handle.

Alex Neil needs to field this side, in a 4-2-3-1 formation, to inflict a big score upon the Millers and compound Alan Stubbs' misery...

GK: Michael McGovern

After a brilliant set of displays at Euro 2016, Michael McGovern earned his summer move to Norwich.

The Northern Ireland goalkeeper has replaced John Ruddy as the Canaries' number one choice.

Norwich fans have been impressed by the 32-year-old's displays so far.

RB: Ivo Pinto

Pinto

Ivo Pinto has been one of Norwich's most consistent performers this season with an array of top quality displays.

The Portuguese right back gets up and down the flank and always puts 100% in.

The tenacious 26-year-old is in the form of his life and is arguably the best right back in the Championship.

CB: Russell Martin

Captain Russell Martin is a mainstay in Alex Neil's defence.

The Scotland international can play at centre back or right back and is a no-nonsense defender.

Alex Neil will be hoping that the 30-year-old is not too busy this weekend and that Norwich do most of the attacking against Rotherham.

CB: Timm Klose

Timm Klose

Timm Klose sustained an ankle injury whilst on international duty in the week but Norwich fans will be praying that the 6'4'' centre half can make a speedy recovery and be available for this weekend's clash.

Norwich's defence is much improved with the Switzerland international operating at the heart of it with commanding aerial displays and a demonstration of passion and leadership.

The prognosis of the 28-year-old's injury is unconfirmed but he is a better alternative to Sebastien Bassong.

LB: Martin Olsson

Norwich nearly lost Martin Olsson this summer but they'd have been delighted to hang onto the talented left back.

After moves to Besiktas and West Ham fell through, the Sweden international remained at Carrow Road and has returned to the starting line-up with some impressive performances.

The 28-year-old has vast experience of the Championship and Premier League and is probably too good for second flight football.

CM: Alexander Tettey

Alex Tetteyd

Alexander Tettey is probably one of the most underrated players in the Championship.

The Norway international is a defence-minded central midfielder who sweeps up everything in front of his back four with energetic performances.

Norwich are lucky to have such an effective player in central midfield and the 30-year-old is showing his class this season.

CM: Jonny Howson

Jonny Howsond

It seems harsh to drop Graham Dorrans, who has been performing so well, but there is a wealth of talented central midfielders at Norwich and Jonny Howson is too good to bench.

The 28-year-old has played over 300 league games in total during his time at Leeds and Norwich and this experience is invaluable.

The box-to-box midfielder is easily good enough to still be playing in the top flight so Norwich have done well to retain his services.

RM: Jacob Murphy

It is difficult to predict what to expect from Jacob Murphy because he feeds off confidence so much.

At the moment, the 21-year-old is in the form of his life and has stepped up to the Championship exceptionally well after a profitable loan spell with Coventry.

The attacking midfielder has six goals in his first ten games this year and will be looking to add to that tally this Saturday.

CAM: Wes Hoolahan

Hoolahandfg

Wes Hoolahan provides the creative spark for Norwich in the attacking regions.

The 5'6'' Irishman has the ability to create chances and score goals with his magic left boot.

They call the 34-year-old the "Irish Messi" which is an indication of the talent he possesses.

LM: Robbie Brady

Alex Neil suffered a scare during the international break as Robbie Brady suffered concussion in the Republic of Ireland's clash with Georgia.

Ireland have cleared their star man, though, and he should be available at the weekend.

The versatile 24-year-old can play on the wing, in central midfield or at left back and he has a wonderful left foot.

ST: Cameron Jerome

cameron-jeromeddds

Cameron Jerome seems to be a very competent player at Championship level but then has never cut it in the top flight.

The 30-year-old has five goals in ten appearances this term for Canaries and is expected to lead the line this weekend too.

The physical journeyman centre forward has bagged in the last two outings and will be looking to score for a third consecutive game against a weak opposition.
