Newcastle United will entertain top of the table Norwich City tomorrow night in what was a Premier League fixture this time last year.

Both clubs have made strong starts to the Championship campaign, with Norwich being the pick of the bunch, sitting on top of the table as they prepare to make the trip to St James' Park.

Both clubs endured differing fortunes in the weekend just gone by, with The Magpies surrendering their one goal lead at Villa Park to come away with a 1-1 draw, while the Canaries comfortably saw off Burton Albion.

A clash this week at St James Park is a big game for both clubs. Norwich will see it as a chance to put further light between themselves and a big rival, while Newcastle will see it as a chance to play catch up.

Here, FLW writer Lee Connor looks at how Newcastle could line up, in a 4-2-3-1 formation...

GK - Matz Sels

The summer signing is under pressure from some areas of the Geordie fanbase, but should maintain his place.

Selz has looked shaky on occasion, leading to some fans questioning his ability. However, expect Benitez to keep faith with his man.

RB - DeAndre Yedlin

The flying full back is still settling into the team but has looked sharp enough so far.

His pace down the right could be crucial against the left hand side of Norwich and Martin Olsson.

CB - Grant Hanley

Grant Hanleymkl098

The big centre back is in a battle with Ciaran Clark for his starting berth, but might get the nod this week if Benitez shuffles the pack.

Hanley will have his hands full with Norwich's attacking prowess, but could be the answer if he is on his game.

CB - Jamaal Lascelles

Lascelles

The captain is a sure fire starter, and will be hoping for a clean sheet to ensure the three points.

Lascelles will need to be at his best alongside his defensive partner to ensure a shut out at St James.

LB - Paul Dummett

The left back spot is still seen as a slightly weaker area of the Newcastle line-up, but Dummett should get the nod.

Dummett brings energy and plenty of effort to the cause, and will be a key player in keeping out Norwich and their tricky attacking midfield players.

CM - Jonjo Shelvey

The England international is one of the standout players in the team this term, and he will be key again.

Shelvey has the ability to control the entire game and ensure possession football for the Toon, something which will be vital if they are to get the win.

CM - Isaac Hayden

hayden7762

A surprise package in the middle of the park this term, but Hayden has excelled since his summer move to the club.

Expect Hayden to provide a shield to his defence, while being a danger at set plays at both ends.

RW - Matt Ritchie

Matt RitchieMatt Ritchied

The tricky wide man has yet to really hit top gear, but is still a match winner on his day.

Ritchie will be hoping to produce a performance of top quality to try and create as much as possible for his teammates.

LW - Christian Atsu

It might be that Benitez starts the on loan Ghanian, with Atsu's pace and trickery out wide a real threat at Championship level.

Yohann Gouffran has done ok in the main this term, but Atsu could well get his chance.

CAM - Mo Diame

diamediamediamediame

Last seasons play off final hero for Hull City, Diame needs to start trying to produce that sort of form for Newcastle on a regular basis.

Diame is a player of immense ability, and his power and goal threat in the hole behind the striker could be crucial.

Fwd - Dwight Gayle

Dwight GayleDwight GayleDwight Gayle

Benitez will soon have a big call to make with Mitrovic back to fitness, but for now Gayle will more than likely keep his place in the team.

Gayle has started the season impressively, and will be looking to add to his goal tally tomorrow evening.

Newcastle fans, how would you line up? Agree with this? Let us know in the comments!
