Despite losing to Bristol City on Tuesday night, Leeds United have recently picked up pace in the Championship campaign.

Marlon Pack's late strike condemned Leeds to what was only their first defeat in five games, as Garry Monk's men sit in 14th place after four wins, one draw and five losses.

On Saturday afternoon, they take on a Barnsley side who have had an impressive start to the season, having defied the odds sitting in 10th place, winning five times, drawing once and losing four times.

Paul Heckingbottom's men have scored 20 times already in the league, and should add to their impressive rally against the Whites' vulnerable defence on Saturday.

It won't be an easy test by any means, but here, FLW writer George Harbey, names a Leeds starting 11 that is more than capable of defeating Yorkshire rivals Barnsley on Saturday...

GK: Rob Green

Since his arrival at Elland Road, Green has seen 15 goals hit his net in all competitions, however it is hard to leave out a goalkeeper of his calibre and ability.

RB: Luke Ayling

The versatile defender has already made 8 appearances for Garry Monk's men, since his arrival from Bristol City in the summer for an undisclosed fee.

CB: Pontus Jansson

The Swede, on loan from Torino, is already becoming a fan favourite at Elland Road, displaying his passion for the club on the pitch as well as off it on social media.

CB: Kyle Bartley

The key to Leeds' successes this term is having a consistent back line, and as a centre half himself, I'm sure manager Monk would agree with that ideology.

Bartley has played 10 times already for Leeds, netting once in his loan spell from Swansea City.

LB: Charlie Taylor

The young starlet look destined to leave Elland Road in the summer, with many high profile Premier League teams looking to pursue his signature, however the dust looks to have settled, as the attacking full back looks to be settled once again at United.

He has made 65 appearances for the club, scoring 3 times.

RDM: Eunan O'Kane

Having made 101 appearances for Eddie Howe's AFC Bournemouth, O'Kane is a real coup for the Whites, and fulfils the hole left void by Lewis Cook, who departed for the Cherries earlier in the summer.

LDM: Kalvin Phillips

This season has seen the introduction of home-grown star, and 20- year-old Kalvin Phillips, who has been a breath of fresh air thus far for Leeds this term.

RM: Pablo Hernandez

I would personally put the former Valencia star back on his preferred right wing position, as he has flourished whilst playing there for all of his career.

The former Champions League player and Spanish international made 113 appearances for Valencia.

CAM: Alex Mowatt

The only change that I would make from Saturday's defeat is bringing in the tenacious Alex Mowatt.

The 21-year-old has made 108 appearances for the Whites, netting 12 times and assisting 8 times.

LM: Hadi Sacko

The versatile forward, on loan from Sporting Lisbon, has made a fine start to his Leeds United career, and thoroughly deserves place in the team.

ST: Chris Wood

The 24 year old has already netted 5 times in 9 games this term, and could be the spearhead in Leeds' promotion push.

So...What do you think Leeds fans? Would you have picked this starting 11? Would you make any changes? What will the score be on Saturday and who will score? Have your say in the comments below!
