After an excellent start to the season sees Huddersfield sitting at the top of the table with a 100% record at home, David Wagner's side will be hoping to continue their fine start against an inconsistent Queens Park Rangers side.

Both Huddersfield and Queens Park Rangers suffered midweek defeats however on completely opposite ends of the spectrum.

Huddersfield lost in a narrow 1-0 encounter against a strong Brighton side whereas Queens Park Rangers simply couldn't compete with a formidable Newcastle United side, as they were beaten 6-0 in a harrowing performance.

It could be a tricky encounter for Huddersfield who will be looking to knock the confidence out of a vulnerable Queens Park Rangers side early.

Huddersfield will also have to be wary as Queens Park Rangers have proved to be stronger away from home following victories over Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic.

However, despite the narrow defeat to Brighton, Huddersfield continue to brim with confidence and like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, David Wagner will be hoping that his side bounces back from defeat.

Football League World Writer, Elliott Wheat-Bowen predicts the Huddersfield Town line-up to beat Queens Park Rangers on Saturday….

GK - Danny Ward

mitre56262262 The difference between Huddersfield and Brighton on Tuesday night was a mistake by on-loan goalkeeper Danny Ward, who couldn't hold onto Anthony Knockaert's long range strike. Despite the high profile error from the Welsh goalkeeper, in that game alone, Ward made two excellent one on one saves and kept Huddersfield in the game.

Considering the fact that the previous two games that Ward kept in resulted in clean sheets, the former against Wolves being courtesy of a wonderful reaction save from a close-range bullet header, it's difficult to see Ward being replaced by either Joel Coleman or Joe Murphy.

As David Wagner defended Danny Ward in the post-match interview and gave the Welsh goalkeeper his full backing, Danny Ward will be hoping to repay his manager's support with a clean sheet against Queens Park Rangers.

LB - Chris Lowe

One of Huddersfield's most consistent performers both going forward and defensively has been German left back Chris Lowe.

The 27-year-old left back has seemingly solved Huddersfield's left back problem which has plagued them over the past few seasons, Lowe has been unflappable and having forged a strong partnership with Christopher Schindler, they have been a formidable defensive pair.

As well as being a strong defensive asset, Lowe's attacking qualities and his ability to push forward and create chances has been vital in Huddersfield's success particularly at home, which was visible in Huddersfield's excellent victory over Barnsley.

Chris Lowe has shown how he is a positive defender who is constantly on the front foot and his willingness to press and drive forward could be extremely uncomfortable for Queens Park Rangers to try and cope with.

The partnership forming between Rajiv van La Parra who tends to cut inside and Chris Lowe who enjoys overlapping at every given opportunity could make it a long afternoon for Queens Park Rangers full-back Nedum Onouha.

CB - Christopher Schindler

Like Chris Lowe, Christopher Schindler's transition from the 2. Bundesliga to the Championship has been seamless.

Huddersfield's record signing appears at this stage to be a bargain as Schindler has rarely put a foot wrong since joining the West Yorkshire side.

Schindler has both forged a comfortable partnership with compatriot Chris Lowe but also with the vastly experienced defensive stalwart Mark Hudson with the pair complimenting each other in a solid central defensive partnership.

Although Schindler may not prove to be the most comfortable defender in possession, his capability on the ball is irrelevant as his old school nature has been precisely what Huddersfield has needed.

Until now, even in Huddersfield's solitary defeat, Christopher Schindler has yet to make a notable mistake for the league leaders and his fine form will be needed to nullify the threat of Conor Washington.

CB - Mark Hudson

One of Huddersfield's most improved players has been Mark Hudson who seems to have a new lease of life under David Wagner's management.

The partnership between Mark Hudson and Christopher Schindler has been air tight so far and the defensive proficiency has been at the base of Huddersfield's early success.

The Hudson-Schindler partnership has been beneficial for both players as Hudson has offered priceless experience and guidance of England and the Championship to Schindler whilst Schindler has provided the athleticism and speed to cover Hudson's limitations.

As Huddersfield's captain, Hudson's role as a vocal leader has been just as important as he has helped to organise a defence that was only assembled earlier in the summer.

With competition from John Gorenc Stankovic and Michael Hefele, many Huddersfield fans may have felt that Mark Hudson's place in Huddersfield's starting line-up was on borrowed time but Hudson has shown his character not only to fight for his place but to earn it through hard work and consistent performances.

RB - Tommy Smith

tommy-smiths

As well as Mark Hudson, Tommy Smith's time at the club predates David Wagner but similarly to Mark Hudson, Tommy Smith has improved under David Wagner's instruction.

As David Wagner has worked with Tommy Smith his confidence on the ball and adventurous nature when going forward has been visible to see, Smith always had the ability to surge forward, however, rather than stifling Smith's attacking intentions, Wagner has given Smith freedom to attack.

Although this can sometimes be detrimental as Smith's defensive positioning can sometimes be suspect when he is caught out when pushing forwards, he has shown himself to be an excellent asset to be at Huddersfield's disposal.

Chris Lowe and Tommy Smith pushing forward in tandem and holding a high position on the pitch played a key role in Huddersfield overwhelming Wolves in an electric first half performance and David Wagner will be hoping it is replicated against Queens Park Rangers.

CDM - Jonathan Hogg

jonathan-hoggjonathan-hogg

One of the first names on the team sheet for Huddersfield is surely Jonathan Hogg, the hard working midfielder epitomises David Wagner's philosophy, the 'terrier identity'.

Although Hogg has been hampered by injury woes in the past, Jonathan Hogg has started the season in emphatic fashion even breaking the mould and unexpectedly getting on the score sheet.

With Aaron Mooy providing the control and creativity, Jonathan Hogg's sheer tenacity and determination provides a welcome balance to the midfield.

With Ivan Paurevic, Philip Billing and Dean Whitehead all competing for Jonathan Hogg's place. Hogg will need to maintain his consistent performances to keep hold of his starting berth but he will no doubt start on Saturday unless he has picked up an unexpected knock.

CDM - Aaron Mooy

aaron-mooyaaron-mooy

The Australian midfielder has been mired in controversy after Mooy's tackle in the West Yorkshire derby was condemned, the decision not to send off Mooy was compounded by the Australian going on to score the winner.

Aaron Mooy has been one of the stars of the season with his ability to dictate the play and control the flow of the game has been crucial in key moments of big matches.

As well as his contributions going forward, Aaron Mooy was leading the tackles chart and Mooy's pass statistics proved how influential he has been in Huddersfield's excellent start to the season.

The 25 year old midfielder's performances wouldn't look out of place in the Premier League with Mooy already proving to be a fan favourite to the Huddersfield faithful.

If Queens Park Rangers are to take the game to Huddersfield, man marking Aaron Mooy may be vital as it has already been shown that if Mooy is given time and space to dictate the play, he can be the difference in a tight encounter.

LAM - Rajiv van La Parra

laparra66

The enigmatic Dutch left winger has been revitalised under David Wagner with Wagner instilling inner belief and a healthy work rate, which has seen him evolve from the inconsistent enigma that he was at Wolves.

van La Parra scored the winner in Huddersfield's last home game against his former club and it showed that Wagner's work with the talented winger was paying off.

The Dutchman has cemented his place in the starting line-up as his work rate and the relationship building between himself and Chris Lowe has caused havoc for opposition defences.

Individually, van La Parra has proved that he has the trickery and turn of pace to be difficult for any full back to handle as he has the ability to commit defenders and create space, the battle between van La Parra and Onouha could hold the key to victory for either side.

CAM - Kasey Palmer

Kasey Palmer

The 19-year-old creative midfielder has been on the periphery of Huddersfield's first team, however, his impressive performances off the bench, could see him earn himself an opportunity to start from the beginning.

The highly rated Chelsea loanee has contributed to Huddersfield's pace and directness on the counter attack, the most notable example being Palmer's assist for Jack Payne's historic winner against Newcastle United.

Kasey Palmer in previous games has also been guilty of making some bad decision making but that inconsistency will decline with maturity and age, as there is no doubt that Palmer will be a future star.

Kasey Palmer has faced limited opportunities so far as he has been competing with both Jack Payne and Nahki Wells to play in the number 10 role but there is no doubt that David Wagner will give Palmer his opportunity and it could come as soon as Saturday.

RM - Elias Kachunga

elias-kachungad

The Ingolstadt loanee has been ever present in Huddersfield's side as he has proved himself to be one of Huddersfield's signings of the season so far.

The 25 year old striker has been Huddersfield's go to option go lead the line as his work rate and ability to link up the play has been thoroughly impressive. Kachunga's work rate has been rewarded with a goal and two assists in the Skybet Championship.

Kachunga's versatility may be called into question at the weekend as Wagner has deployed Kachunga on the wing in the past and may look to do so again against Queens Park Rangers.

Although this isn't Kachunga's natural position, it offers Huddersfield another attacking option and allows David Wagner to bring Nahki Wells into the fold.

ST - Nahki Wells

wellsssss

Although the Bermudan has yet to replicate the same blistering form that he had last season, Nahki Wells could be brought back in on Saturday.

Huddersfield's reliance on Nahki Wells has been virtually non-existent as Huddersfield currently has 9 different league goalscorers from their seven league fixtures.

Despite that, Nahki Wells may be brought back into the starting lineup on Saturday with the freedom to create chances and David Wagner will be hoping for Wells to get on the scoresheet.

Although Wells hasn't scored as many, his movement coupled with Kachunga and van la Parra's tendency to cut inside could create the necessary openings needed to break down Queens Park Ranger's defence.

Nahki Wells could inject the freshness and vibrancy that Huddersfield may look to utilise against a vulnerable looking Queens Park Rangers defence.
