Leeds United welcome Brentford to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon in search of another win that could take them up to third place if results go their way.

Garry Monk's side have been in superb form in recent months after a somewhat disappointing start to the campaign.

Brentford have struggled for consistency this season under Dean Smith though they still have a number of dangerous players including the likes of Scott Hogan, and will go to Elland Road full of confidence after an excellent 1-0 win away at Bristol City.

Leeds will have to do without key striker Chris Wood for the visit of the Bees but can welcome back both Kalvin Philipps and club captain Liam Bridcutt, after making his return on Tuesday after a lengthy lay off.

Here is the Leeds United team that Monk should field to beat Brentford on Saturday...

GK - Rob Green

Britain Football Soccer -

The experienced championship 'keeper has kept seven clean sheets this season and has done well for Garry Monk's side since his arrival in the summer.

His experience of winning Championship games and playing under pressure can only be a good thing, as the Whites look to progress up the league table.

RB - Luke Ayling

The former Yeovil Town and Bristol City full back has been one of the strongest performers in the Championship this season.

His consistent performances, full of energy and defensive solidarity, has been crucial to the success Leeds have had this season and there is no doubts that he will continue to be a big player for Garry Monk.

CB - Kyle Bartley

In Liam Bridcutt's absence, Kyle Bartley has been a true leader not only in the heart of defence but for the whole side.

His defensive partnership with Pontus Jansson is arguably one of the best in the division and few opposition attacks will get the better of them this season.

Bridcutt may take the captains armband, but Bartley can continue to lead Leeds to success starting on Saturday.

CB - Pontus Jansson

Leeds fans will be praying that they can secure a permanent deal for Jansson in the near future.

The Torino loanee is a fan favourite at the club because of his passionate showings, most recently after their 2-0 win against Reading on Tuesday, and has been one of the best players in the Championship this season.

The 25-year-old will need to be at his best to deny the in-form Brentford striker Scott Hogan on Saturday afternoon.

LB - Charlie Taylor

Although their continues to be speculation surrounding his future at the club, Charlie Taylor has still put in some fantastic performances for Leeds, most recently against Reading on Tuesday.

A move to the Premier League may be on the cards for the youngster, but his passion shows he is still determined to win and achieve success at Elland Road.

CDM - Kalvin Phillips

The return of Kalvin Phillips will be a massive boost for Garry Monk, with the 21-year-old being one of the stand out players not only in the Leeds side but in the Championship this season.

Phillips' ability to do the ugly work, retain possession and get things going for Leeds is important in how they play and his return could be the difference on Saturday.

CDM - Liam Bridcutt

Bridcutt is another player returning who will provide a huge boost to the Leeds midfield.

As club captain, the former Brighton man will have to prove his leadership in the heart of the midfield and a convincing win on Saturday will be the perfect way of showing this.

Leeds United are only going to get stronger with the likes of Bridcutt in their midfield.

RM - Hadi Sacko

Sacko is consistently proving to be a nuisance for opposition sides this season with his pace, skill and ability to whip in crosses and put pressure on the defence.

Although Chris Wood is out injured, Kemar Roofe is more than capable of getting on the end of Sacko's crosses and this is something Brentford will have to be aware of.

CAM - Souleymane Doukara

The Leeds forward took his total to three goals this season after scoring the second goal on Tuesday evening, and he continues to impress this season.

Doukara has been used to playing out wide in recent times but in the absence of Chris Wood, I expect him to play behind the striker and cause problems for the Brentford defence.

LM - Stuart Dallas

dallasss

Stuart Dallas made his return to the Leeds starting line up on Tuesday evening and put in a good performance.

The Northern Ireland international's energy and creativity has been missed at times this season and his presence will be a welcome return for Garry Monk, who needs as many options as he can over a long season.

Dallas made 64 appearances for Brentford over three years at the club so will be determined to impress against his old club on Saturday afternoon.

ST - Kemar Roofe

With prolific striker Chris Wood out with a hamstring injury, the pressure lies with Kemar Roofe to score the goals against Brentford.

Roofe has lacked consistency this season but with Wood out, it presents the perfect opportunity for the former Oxford United man to make a name for himself and fire his side to victory.
