Leeds come into this game against promotion rivals Aston Villa on the back of four wins in their last five league games, as Leeds look to cement their place in the play-offs.

Last time out Leeds picked up an impressive three points on the road at Yorkshire rivals Rotherham.

Chris Wood and Souleymane Doukara's goals were enough to get Leeds back to winning ways following their defeat to Newcastle the previous week.

Monk’s men can expect a tougher test this time out, when they come up against an in-from Aston Villa team who are yet to be beaten under their new boss, Steve Bruce.

Leeds were knocked out of the EFL Cup during the week by Liverpool, with Monk making several changes to the team that defeated Rotherham, but he could make more changes for the Villa game, bringing the rested players back into the team.

If Garry Monk plays this 4-2-3-1 team, Leeds will surely beat Aston Villa…

GK: Rob Green

Green was one of several who Monk rested on Tuesday night, but I would expect him to regain his place in goal come Saturday.

The former England international has been a regular feature for Leeds in the league this season despite some errors that have led to goals.

Green is likely to be busy on Saturday and he will no doubt play a key role in deciding the outcome of this game.

Villa are one of the biggest attacking threats in the league, so they have no problems creating chances, so Green is likely to be busy.

CB: Luke Ayling

Ayling was another who Monk rested on Tuesday, but he was called upon to fill in at centre back when Liam Cooper came off injured.

Ayling will probably slot back in at right back on Saturday, where he has impressed for Leeds so far this season.

Ayling could be in for a difficult game on Saturday, when he is likely to come up against Jordan Ayew.

If the Leeds right back can keep Ayew quiet then The Whites would be in with a great chance of winning the game.

CB: Pontus Jansson

Pontus JanssonPontus Jansson9

Jansson missed Tuesday's EFL Cup quarter-final due to illness but he should have recovered by Saturday and be ready to reclaim his spot at centre half alongside Kyle Bartley.

Jansson will have to be on top of his game on Saturday to keep Villa’s in-form striker, Jonathan Kodjia, off the scoresheet.

CB: Kyle Bartley

bartleybartley

Since Bartley’s arrival at Elland Road in the summer, he has impressed Leeds fans, producing some outstanding performances which have contributed to Leeds keeping so many clean sheets.

Bartley will play a key role in this game.

His defensive duties will be key in deciding who claims all three points at Elland Road.

Along with Jansson, Bartley will be tasked with keeping Kodjia out of the game and limiting the amount of chances he gets.

LB: Charlie Taylor

A product of the Leeds academy, Taylor has been a huge success for Leeds in recent years, which has earned him recognition from some of the Premier League’s biggest sides.

He previously refused to sign a new deal, which expires in the summer so he could get his Premier League move soon.

Taylor will be tasked with keeping Albert Adomah quiet on Saturday, who has been a key part of Villa’s success in recent weeks.

CM: Ronaldo Vieira

Vieira is just 18 years of age but plays with the maturity of someone beyond his age and he will need to demonstrate this on Saturday to give Leeds the advantage.

With Jack Grealish expected to play behind Jonathan Kodjia, Vieira will need to make sure he isn’t finding space behind the midfield, where he can have a huge impact.

CM: Kalvin Phillips

Kalvin Phillipsdd

Phillips is another Leeds academy graduate and he has really come to the fore under the guidance of Garry Monk, who is notoriously good at nurturing young players.

Phillips can have a big say in this game.

Alongside Vieira, the 20-year-old will need to win the midfield battle to help Leeds get a foothold in the game.

Eunan O'Kane is a doubt for the weekend so Phillips should partner Vieira in a young midfield.

RM: Hadi Sacko

Hadi Sackod

Sacko is enjoying his loan spell at Leeds so far, but he will be keen to add more goals and assists to his game, as he looks to help fire Leeds to promotion.

The French wide man has been a huge attacking threat for Leeds but he hasn’t yet had the desired effect of being directly involved in goals.

CAM: Kemar Roofe

Roofe

Roofe had a difficult start to his Leeds United career, playing out on the wing where he is largely ineffective.

Since he has moved inside to play behind the striker in the absence of the injured Pablo Hernandez, he has been far more effective and has changed opinions amongst Leeds fans.

Roofe could have a big say in deciding who takes all three points Saturday.

If he can find space in behind the Villa midfield, he can create chances for himself and the other Leeds attackers.

LM: Souleymane Doukara

doukara

Doukara has improved recently and seems to have cemented himself a regular starting spot on the left flank.

He provides Leeds with an attacking threat going forward and hard work when defending.

Arguably, one of Aston Villa’s weakest players is Alan Hutton and Leeds could target him for some success on Saturday.

If they can get Doukara on the ball and running at Hutton he would cause the Scottish full back plenty of problems.

ST: Chris Wood

chris woodd

Wood has rediscovered his goalscoring touch this season, with nine goals to his name already this season.

His goals will play a key part if Leeds are to win promotion this season, with them not really having any other clinical finishers.

Wood will need to be on top form on Saturday with chances likely to be hard to come by.
