Sleeping giants Leeds United look to be slowly awakening under the guidance of former Swansea man Garry Monk, who has led them to a very good start so far to this Sky Bet Championship campaign.

Leeds currently find themselves sitting in 9th place in the Championship table after picking up seven wins from the opening 15 league games, and we see no reason why the Whites can't be in the mix for a play-off spot come the end of the season.

Leeds will be looking to catapult themselves further into the race for a play-off spot with another win this weekend when they face off against Norwich City, who are themselves in the mix for an automatic promotion spot and currently sit in 4th in the Sky Bet Championship table.

This article is going to take a look at the Leeds XI Monk should field to beat Norwich on Saturday....

GK - Robert Green

robert greenrobert greensssss

Robert Green is the undisputed number one goalkeeper at the club and you can expect him to continue in goal this Saturday, as Leeds face off against promotion chasing Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The former England international actually spent eight years with Norwich City and made over 200 appearances for the club, and will be desperate to put on a good display in front of the fans that once used to cheer his name.

LB - Charlie Taylor

23-year-old Taylor may not be at the club much longer as a number of Premier League clubs are reportedly readying bids for the highly rated full back in January however, Leeds remain adamant that Taylor will be staying put at Elland Road.

Taylor rose through the youth ranks with Leeds and has gone onto make close to 100 appearances for the club.

He has also spent time away from the club with various loan spells at clubs such as Fleetwood Town, York City and Bradford City.

CB - Kyle Bartley

bartleybartley

Swansea loanee Kyle Bartley has been a consistent fixture in the Leeds United backline so far this season, and has turned in some defensively solid displays, as well as chipping in with two goals.

The 25- year-old is a strong, commanding centre back who breeds confidence through the whole team with his confidence and composure.

He appears to have taken to life with the club extremely well.

CB - Pontus Jansson

Pontus Jansson is turning into somewhat of a cult figure with the Leeds United supporters, after turning in some brilliant performances for the club throughout the early stages of his loan spell.

The Swedish international is currently on loan from Torino, but after his impressive start there has been many reports circulating that Leeds are ready to make the move permanent in January, something that the Leeds United fans are very hopeful of.
Jansson stands at 6ft 5 inches tall, making him a huge threat in the opposition penalty area, as well as very useful inside his own.
He is a commanding, imposing figure in the backline and looks to be striking up an excellent relationshp with centre back partner Kyle Bartley.

RB - Luke Ayling

Luke Ayling signed for the club this summer and has had an impressive start to life with Leeds United, and has well and truly made the right back spot his own under gaffer Garry Monk.

You can expect to see the 25-year-old from the off again this weekend as Leeds face off against promotion chasing Norwich City at Carrow Road.

CM - Ronaldo Vieira

Young midfielder Rolando Vieira is fast becoming one of the hottest properties in the Championship, and is no doubt attracting many admiring glances from the top flight.

At just the age of 18, he is already into double figures in terms of appearances for the Leeds United senior team, and would be given a starting role this weekend in my preferred Leeds United XI.

Vieira has excellent technical ability and has so far displayed calmness and composure way beyond his years in his brief footballing career.

CM - Eunan O'Kane

Eunan O’Kane arrived at Elland Road this summer from Premier League outfit Bournemouth, and has enjoyed a good start to his career with the club.

The midfield playmaker would keep his starting place for the upcoming fixture against Norwich in my preferred Leeds United XI.

O’Kane has been capped five times by the Republic of Ireland senior team after previously being capped at under 21 level.

LW - Pablo Hernandez

Former Spanish international Pablo Hernandez has started showing his quality in recent weeks and looks to be a real asset to the squad. Many reports circulating indicate that both the club and the player are wanting to make his stay permanent, and it remains to be seen if a deal can be thrashed out in January.
Hernandez is adept at playing on either flank and would be given a starting role on the left wing in my Leeds United XI.

CAM - Alex Mowatt

mowattttt

Alex Mowatt has fell out of favour somewhat under Garry Monk and has had to mostly settle for a place on the Leeds United bench however, there is no doubting that this youngman has talent.

Mowatt has bags and bags of potential and would earn a recall to the starting line up in my preferred XI to play just behind the striker.

Mowatt is often criticised for his work rate and defending but, he would be granted a free role in my XI to drift around and pick up little pockets of space in behind the Norwich midfield, to allow him to influence the game in an attacking sense.

RW - Kemar Roofe

roofe

Summer signing Kemar Roofe has been improving with every passing game over recent weeks, and would again be given a starting role on the right wing when The Whites come up against Norwich City this week.

The 23-year-old has scored just once for the club since signing from Oxford and will be hopeful of adding to that tally this weekend.

ST - Chris Wood

wood542

Chris Wood is having a fantastic season so far having bagged 10 goals in just 18 games, a tally and striker would be happy with.

Wood sits amongst the leaders in terms of league goals scored with 7 to his name so far, and he will be hopeful of adding to that tally this weekend when coming up against what will be a stern Norwich City defence.

Wood is a very experienced Championship player and has turned out for the likes of Barnsley, Birmingham City, Millwall and Bristol City throughout his career.
