Boro hosted Sheffield United at The Riverside Stadium and struck three goals in the first 25 minutes of the game to all but confirm the three points early in the game.

Martin Braithwaite kicked things off and his goal was followed up by an Aden Flint header on his home debut and a strike for veteran winger Stewart Downing.

In the first game of the season, Middlesbrough left it late but managed to pick up a point against Millwall at The New Den.

Tony Pulis’ men were trailing 2-0 going into the final stages of the game before Braithwaite’s 87th minute tap-in got them back in it and left-back George Friend levelled seven minutes into injury time.

Boro are undefeated and if Pulis selects this starting XI, they will surely pick up three points against their old manager Garry Monk and his Birmingham side.

Randolph is the undisputed starter between the sticks for Boro.

Shotton is the only available right-back for Middlesbrough at the moment.

Flint bounced back from his shaky performance at Millwall to impress and score a goal at The Riverside Stadium.

Fry has been filling in for Dani Ayala while he carries a knock and is expected to continue.

With Fabio sold, Friend has made the left-back spot his own again.

Pulis could probably stick with Adam Clayton, who has been good, but might choose to hand McNair a start after his 20 minute cameo against Sheffield United.

Howson offers non-stop running in midfield and he is good in possession.

Wing enjoyed an excellent match against Sheffield United and he could emerge as one of the stars of the season.

Downing floats around in the attacking midfield line, offering a threat with his superb left foot.

After scoring two in two, Braithwaite will be hungry to add to that tally.

Assombalonga did not stop running against the Blades and his goals will start coming.

If they don't, then he has Ashley Fletcher and Jordan Hugill knocking on the door for a start.
