Fulham have had a very steady start to this Sky Bet Championship season and under the guidance of manager Slavisa Jokanovic, they currently find themselves sitting in 11th place in the table after picking up 5 wins from the opening 15 games.

Fulham enjoyed a spectacular result last weekend as they trounced high flying Huddersfield 5-0, a complete shock result.

Jokanovic will be hopeful his side will give him a repeat performance when they face off against Brentford tonight, with a win potentially boosting them into the play-off places temporarily.

This article is going to take a look at the starting eleven that Jokanovic must field if they are to beat Brentford tonight...

GK - David Button

Undisputed number one goalkeeper David Button is almost certain to be in between the sticks for this upcoming game against his former club Brentford, barring any injuries, and will be extra motivated to put in a good performance and keep a clean sheet.

Button was at Brentford for three years and made over 100 appearances for the club throughout that time.

LB - Scott Malone

Summer signing Scott Malone would retain his place at Left back in my preffered Fulham starting XI. Malone arrived at Craven Cottage this summer from fellow Championship side Cardiff and has enjoyed a good start to life with the London club.

Malone will be keen to put in a good showing against Brentford and help the team come away with a victory.

CB - Tomas Kalas

tomas-kalasc

Chelsea loanee Tomas Kalas is a very classy, calm and composed defender and is someone who breeds confidence through the whole team with his presence in the backline.

Fulham look like a much more solid outfit when he is playing and will be keen to see him put in a good display in this upcoming match against Brentford.

CB - Tim Ream

American international Tim Ream would partner Kalas at the heart of the defence in my Fulham XI.

Ream is a very experienced player who has represented the likes of the New York Red Bulls and Bolton Wanderers throughout his career.

Ream has been capped 21 times for the USA national team, scoring once in the process.

RB - Ryan Fredericks

Ryan Frederickss

Lightning quick full back Ryan Fredericks should retain his place at right back for this one, and he will be keen to put in a good performance to really make that right back spot his own.

The former Tottenham Hotspur trainee has previously represented the likes of Millwall, Middlesborough and tonights opponents Brentford.

CM - Kevin McDonald

Former Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers man Kevin McDonald has been excellent for Fulham so far this season.

The Scot is a very strong, physical presence in midfield and is someone who can control the midfield battle and dictate the tempo of play.

McDonald penned a three year deal with the club this summer when signing from fellow Championship side Wolves.

CM - Stefan Johansen

Former Celtic man Stefan Johansen would get the nod to partner McDonald in the centre of midfield to add a good balance to the engine room.

Johansen is a box to box midfielder who has great energy, an intense work rate and a never say die attitude, he is strong in a tackle and is a real asset to this Fulham team.

LW - Sone Aluko

sone-aluko

Sone Aluko was absolutely outstanding last weekend as Fulham smashed high flying Huddersfield for five, and you can expect to see him in the starting line up again for this one as Fulham face off against Brentford.

Aluko is lightning quick, very direct and has very good dribbling ability, he has the skill and flair to beat a man and is not afraid to try something out of the ordinary.

Aluko is proving to be a very good piece of business by the club.

CAM - Tom Cairney

Tom Cairney is a player who has incredible technical ability, he has a wonderful passing range, accomponied with great vision and also has a wicked long shot in his arsenal.

Cairney would be granted the free role behind the striker in my preferred Fulham XI to allow him to influence the game in a positive manner.

Defensive shackles should be taken off Cairney and he should be allowed to go onto the pitch and express himself.

RW - Lucas Piazon

lucas-piazon-ld

Chelsea loanee Piazon was on the scoresheet last weekend as Fulham smashed Huddersfield, and he will be hoping for more of the same tonight.

Piazon is clearly a player of incredible quality and class as his caps for the Brazilian under 17, 2o and 23 teams suggest.

ST - Chris Martin

chris-martinv

It was certainly a shock move when it was announced that Chris Martin would be joining Fulham on loan, and it is definitely proving to be that Derby's loss is Fulham's gain.

Martin grabbed himself a brace last weekend in the 5-0 drubbing of Huddersfield, and will be desperate to get on the scoresheet again tonight and keep his goal tally ticking over.

Martin is a striker of incredible quality and class, and is someone who has reached double figures in goalscoring terms for the past three seasons running, he will be certainly looking to keep up that record this season.
