Aston Villa maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a late equaliser against Brentford in midweek.

Brentford looked certain to beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park but a late Jonathan Kodjia header snatched a point for the hosts.

Kodjia had also equalised earlier in the game, turning past Ezri Konsa using his strength and acceleration, before lashing the ball past Daniel Bentley in the Brentford goal.

It means that Aston Villa go into their fifth league game of the season with two wins and two draws already under their belt, as well as an EFL Cup victory over Yeovil Town.

Steve Bruce will be wondering whether to rotate his players after games last weekend and on Wednesday.

This weekend, Aston Villa face Reading, who currently sit second from bottom in the league with just one point to their name.

Here is how Bruce should set his team up against the Royals.

Although Nyland made another mistake, he showed he is worth persevering with after a string of fine saves kept Aston Villa in the match against Brentford.

Elmohamady could drop back from the wing to full-back to accommodate some more attack-minded players.

Chester is the skipper and his spot in the team is undisputed.

Mile Jedinak is not a centre-back and Tuanzebe is not a right-back so it makes sense to drop the Australian and move the on-loan Manchester United defender into a central slot.

Bruce needs to start putting square pegs in square holes but for now, he must stick with right-footed Hutton at left-back because the only alternative is Neil Taylor.

McGinn has been magnificent since he joined from Hibernian in the summer and is likely to continue.

Against Reading at home, Bruce does not need to be quite so conservative so Glenn Whelan could drop out for the more attack-minded Hourihane.

Adomah will be nervously peering over his shoulder now that Anwar El Ghazi has arrived at the club so he needs a good performance.

Grealish is the main man for Aston Villa and most of the attacks will flow through him.

Green has express pace, raw skill and an eye for goal so he should be given another go in the starting line-up against weaker opposition.

Kodjia has three goals in two games now and he looks like he is back to his best. You wouldn't bet against the Ivorian bagging this weekend.
