It’s been a good week for Aston Villa, who started their Sky Bet Championship campaign off in perfect fashion before coming out of the transfer window with their biggest asset still on board.
Steve Bruce’s side were efficient in their clash with Hull City on Monday, battling back from a goal down to beat the Tigers 3-1 at the KCOM Stadium.
Tommy Elphick, Ahmed Elmohamady and Alan Hutton represented unlikely match winners for Villa, but the three points meant all the same to Bruce’s side.
Then, there was the small matter of the remainder of the transfer window, where Villa fought off Premier League interest in Jack Grealish, as well as making some shrewd additions to their existing squad.
Attention will now be turning to tomorrow afternoon, with Villa back in Championship action against Wigan Athletic.
