According to reports from Turkish media outlet Fanatik, Fenerbahce are interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Yohan Benalouane before the European transfer window closes.

The Turkish side have already signed another Championship defender in Huddersfield's Mathias Jorgensen this summer, but could now look to swoop for Reds defender Benalouane.

The 32-year-old made 14 appearances for Forest in the second half of last season, after becoming Martin O'Neill's first signing in charge at the City Ground, arriving from Premier League side Leicester City.

The Tunisian defender made an instant impact on Trentside, scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory over arch rivals Derby County, and then forming a solid defensive partnership with Alexander Milosevic at the back.

But Benalouane is yet to make an appearance for the Reds this season, with the likes of Joe Worrall, Michael Dawson and Tobias Figueiredo all higher up in the pecking order at present.
