Tottenham have offered to increase the add-ons in the deal to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea City before tonight's transfer deadline at 5pm, according to Football Insider.

The Lilywhites have had a decent start to the season and will be looking to continue that against rivals West Ham this weekend in the Premier League.

First, though, Jose Mourinho will be looking to finish off his squad in terms of signings and Rodon is one player that has been linked considerably in the last few weeks.

With that in mind, the report is now suggesting Spurs are offering to increase the value of the add-ons to try and get near Swansea's asking price of £15m, whilst they have also dabbled with the idea of sending a fringe player to the Liberty Stadium to try and get things done.

The story suggests Swansea want straight cash ideally, though, so some negotiation is still needed here with time ticking down on this market now.

The Verdict

Rodon is a good player and one that could be a hit in the Premier League if he signed for the right club and played regularly.

Spurs need another centre-half so this link makes sense but it just remains to be seen if a deal can be struck between the two clubs in the final hours of the window.
