Derby County assistant manager Jody Morris has sent an emotional message to his former club, saying for the first time in his life he will want Chelsea to lose.

Morris,

The former midfielder, now 39, graduated through the youth system at Chelsea, making his debut for the club in the 1995/96 season.

He went on to make over 150 appearances for the Blues before leaving for Leeds United in 2003.

Lampard will be hoping to cause another cup upset when he leads his side out at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

The Rams knocked Manchester United out of the competition on penalties at Old Trafford in the last round after a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes.

The Verdict

It says a lot about Morris that he is held in similar acclaim to Lampard at Chelsea, despite making significantly fewer appearances prior to the club's most successful era.

His role with Derby should not be underestimated either, and himself and Lampard have quickly proven to be an impressive duo in the dugout.

I imagine it will not be long until he is offered management positions of his own.
