Chris Wilder will be hoping to get the double over Barnsley in a fiercely competitive clash.

United are one point outside the play-offs with four other teams battling for the last spot. They need a win in this match  because they can't afford to drop any points especially against a team so low in the table.

Barnsley are five points away from safety, although they do have a game in hand against Nottingham Forest. They need points so they will be aiming for a win in this match which is reinforced by the fact that they will be playing in front of a home crowd.

Therefore, there is an extra edge to this game which could make this a very entertaining affair. Last time, there were two red cards so there could easily be something similar in this game.

Here's the XI that Wilder should start in a 3-5-2 formation...

Moore starts due to Jamal Blackman being suspended because of a red card he picked up in the game against Brentford.

Baldock is the right wing-back and it is important he isn't pushed back because the formation could easily become a 5-3-2 formation which makes the team conservative and reactive.

Basham starts as the right centre-back and he will be aiming for a clean sheet after conceding an equaliser in the latter stages against Cardiff City.

Wright comes in for the injured Richard Stearman and being in a back three should allow him to fit in relatively easily.

O'Connell makes up the third centre-back and they are tasked with keeping Swansea loanee Oliver McBurnie quiet.

Stevens is important like Baldock because his average position determines how much control the team has. Being higher up the pitch allows them to control stifle central areas as well as providing a wide threat in forward areas.

Lundstram continues in midfield and is important in supporting attacks while also ensuring that United are hard to break down defensively.

Fleck sits alongside Lundstram and his balance of responsibilities is weighted more towards his defensive work, although he is also important in recycling possession effectively in order to create openings and overloads in wide areas.

£360k-rated Mark Duffy comes straight into the team after returning from injury with David Brooks missing out. He is the key playmaker in the team and should add an extra element to their attacking with his creativity.

Sharp forms part of front two as United will intend to put the pressure on a leaky Barnsley defence and having the extra striker means they have an additional threat for crosses and second balls into the box.

Clarke is the main goalscoring threat and he will be aiming to add to his goal against Cardiff which was his 16th of the season. His instinctive nature in the box will be key in taking advantage of openings because this is likely to be a scrappy game due to what's at stake.
