36.8% clean sheet percentage: The talented stopper Leeds need to target for promotion push

Leeds United are expected to appoint Marcelo Bielsa as manager ahead of what will be a very busy summer at Elland Road.

Promotion will be the aim next season but the new manager will realise that a lot of new arrivals are needed to ensure the Whites can compete.

One of the priorities will be landing a new keeper and Manchester United’s Dean Henderson could be a smart signing for the Yorkshire club.

The 21-year old enjoyed a superb campaign with Shrewsbury last season, helping the side to third in League One although they missed out on promotion in the play-off final.

Nevertheless, Henderson’s contribution was immense, as our graphic shows. He played the vast majority of the season and conceded under a goal a game which is a fine achievement.

As well as that, his clean sheet percentage of 36.8% is very respectable and he also managed to save four penalties which highlights his shot-stopping ability.

Such form saw him earn international recognition with the England U21s and another loan move will beckon from United.

Leeds are in desperate need for a new number one, with Felix Wiedwald a disastrous signing 12 months ago. And, whilst Bailey Peacock-Farrell did well after coming into the team, there are doubts about his ability over the course of a season.

Therefore, Leeds should go all-out to land Henderson who is a promising keeper that has the quality to star for a side that wants to push for promotion.
