West Bromwich Albion will be looking to continue their impressive start to the season tomorrow when they face Sheffield Wednesday at the Hawthorns in the Championship.

Since deciding to hand over the reins to Slaven Bilic in July, the Baggies have achieved a tremendous amount of success in the second-tier under the guidance of the Croatian.

Currently top of the Championship standings after 16 games, West Brom could extend their lead over the chasing pack to five points on Saturday by beating the Owls.

However, in order for the Baggies to have the best chance of sealing all three points in front of their own supporters, it is imperative that Bilic makes the correct call in terms of his team selection.

Whilst the likes of Grady Diangana, Matheus Pereira and Matt Phillips are all expected to feature this weekend, Charlie Austin could be replaced in West Brom's starting eleven by fellow summer signing Kenneth Zohore.

Here, in our latest FLW Duels article, we assess whether Zohore or Austin should be tasked with leading the line for the Baggies by taking a closer look at their statistics from the current campaign...

Whereas Zohore has made 10 league appearances for the Baggies this season, Austin has featured on 11 occasions in the Championship.

During these particular match-ups, the latter of the two forwards has only managed to find the back of net on one occasion despite having 25 shots on target.

Meanwhile, Zohore has scored twice from ten goal-bound attempts, albeit with both of these efforts coming from the penalty spot.

Nevertheless, the fact that the Denmark international has a better conversion rate compared to Austin indicates that he may be worth trustworthy when it comes to taking opportunities.

Whilst both players have illustrated that they are more than capable of contributing to West Brom's build-up play, Zohore boasts a better pass success rate (75.9%) compared to Austin who has completed 75.6% of his passes.

Although there is not much to separate the two players when it comes to this particular statistic, the fact that Austin has registered one assist suggests that he may be more suited to the way that the Baggies set up under Bilic.

Given that neither Austin or Zohore possess much of a threat when it comes to taking the game to the opposition, it is not at all surprising that they have completed a combined total of 20 successful dribbles this season.

However, when you consider that Zohore has won 24.1% of his aerial battles compared to Austin's success rate of 20.5%, if the Baggies need to implement a back-up plan on Saturday he may be the man to turn to for inspiration.

Therefore, given that he has scored more goals, won more headers and completed a higher percentage of his passes during the 2019/20 campaign, it could be argued that Zohore deserves to lead the line for West Brom against the Owls.
