It's probably fair to say that Oxford United will be on something of a high going into their meeting with Gillingham at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Having thrashed Lincoln City 6-0 in the league last weekend, Karl Robinson's side then arguably went one better during the week, as they shocked Premier League West Ham with a 4-0 win in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

But while those two games will have sent may around the club into absolute ecstasy, it does mean the rotation made by Robinson between the two games leaves him with something of a selection headache ahead of their return to league action this weekend.

So who should Robinson select to take on Gillingham at the Kassam Stadium.

Here, we've taken a look at the starting XI we think the Oxford boss should name on Saturday afternoon.

For us, we feel that the solution to Robinson's selection headache is perhaps unsurprisingly a combination of the two lineups from those stunning wins so far this week, in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

In goal, the ever-reliable Simon Eastwood should keep his place between the posts, and it would be a surprise to everyone were that to change on Saturday.

Ahead of Eastwood, we imagine that Robinson will be keen to employ a backline that is as fresh as possible, meaning Chris Cadden could return in the right-back role he played at Lincoln, with Rob Dickie and John Mousinho re-establishing their central defensive partnership at the weekend. A lack of alternative options at left-back however, mean that it could be a third start of the week for Josh Ruffels.

Having played the full 90 minutes twice already this week, we imagine Cameron Brannagan could be due a break, while a dislocated shoulder suffered against West Ham by George Thorne means that Alex Gorrin could return to partner one of Wednesday night's scorers in the shape of Shandon Baptiste in the centre of midfield.

Further forward, Tarique Fosu will surely be brimming with confidence after backing up his hat-trick over Lincoln with a goal from the bench against the Hammers, while Liverpool loanee Ben Woodburn will surely be keen to get in on the goalscoring act to prove his worth and potential.

Upfront, having come off the bench to score against both Lincoln and West Ham, on-loan Bristol City man Matty Taylor may also be feeling that he is due a start this week, meaning that Jamie Mackie, who has been Oxford's regular starter leading the line - scoring twice including against Lincoln - may be forced to make way.
