Leeds United favourite Pablo Hernandez has made some interesting choices for his ultimate six-a-side team, during an interview with LUTV.

Given a selection of categories, the Spaniard had to pick the best player he has played against (Lionel Messi), with (Juan Mata), in the same position as himself (David Silva) and a current team-mate.

And, with plenty of options to choose from in the Leeds squad, Hernandez opted for current fan-favourite Gjanni Alioski.

The energetic and versatile left-back, along with Michael Laudrup and Pablo Piatti, completed the side and it is not surprise given his impact in recent months.

Last season saw the Macedonian net seven goals in 44 league matches, assisting five more, and has retained his place in Marcelo Bielsa's first-team.

They have made a fast-start to the 2019/20 campaign as well, however, currently sat in third-place heading into the international break, winning four of their opening six matches.

However, a narrow 1-0 loss to Swansea City last weekend meant they went into the break off the back of a loss, with Wayne Routledge netting a 90th minute winner.

The verdict

You get the feeling that Alioski is the sort of player who could adapt to any team he is put in, so I think this is a sensible call from Hernandez.

The Macedonian is clearly a favourite of Bielsa's too and it is easy to see why.

His energetic displays at left-back often personify exactly what Bielsa wants from his players and more often than not he ends up having a notable impact.
