As is the case in transfer window, there are always some rumours that are going to take you by surprise.

It seems that one of those this summer surrounds the future of Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu, who is reportedly a target for Macedonian champions FK Shkendija, according to reports from Albanian outlet Lajm.

They claim that the Macedonian side want to have completed the signing of Nuhiu by the time they start their Champions League qualifying campaign in early July.

Having joined from Turkish side Eskisehirspor in the summer of 2013, Nuhiu is one of Wednesday's longest serving players.

But is now the time for the Kosovan to say goodbye to Hillsborough? Here, Football League World puts the spotlight on Nuhiu's time with the Owls to find out...

In his six years at the club, Nuhiu has made just over 200 league for Wednesday, with all of those coming in the Championship.

It seems however, that Nuhiu's record is not altogether convincing. With 34 goals in that time, that's an average of around one in every six games, and if they are to push on towards the Premier League - as they are expected to do under Steve Bruce next season - then they will need to have more reliable goalscorers at their disposal.

Worryingly for Nuhiu, his record in terms of assists is a similar one, with 20 assists working out an average of one every 10.4 games, meaning that will offer no saving grace for the Kosovan over his underwhelming goalscoring record.

There also has to be some concern around a pass success rate of 63%, which shows he isn't good enough in terms of linking up with his fellow attackers, potentially even leaving his side open to counter attacks.

One aspect where Nuhiu does impress more however is his average of four aerial duels won per game, something which may well make him an asset in terms of both attacking and defending set pieces.

In spite of that however, Nuhiu's return does not appear to be enough to suggest that he could help take the Owls back towards the Premier League next season.

In releasing a number of long serving players at the end of the season, Steve Bruce has already shown that he is ready to make his mark on his new side, and with just a year left on his contract at Hillsborough, this may well be Wednesday's last chance to cash in on Nuhiu, so you wouldn't be all that surprised to see the experienced striker move on.
