The break for the World Cup came at a good time for Queens Park Rangers as Mick Beale's side have recently experienced a slump in form.

Having initially made a positive start to the season in the Championship, the R's have slipped down the league standings following a run of five games without a win.

As a result of their defeats to West Bromwich Albion, Huddersfield Town and Coventry City, QPR are now seventh in the league standings and are 10 points adrift of leaders Burnley.

Set to face the Clarets on December 11th, the R's will need to step up their performance levels in order to have a chance of securing a positive result at Loftus Road.

Here, using data gathered from WhoScored, we have decided to take a look at how QPR's discipline this season compares to the rest of the Championship...

QPR have accumulated 33 yellow cards in the 21 league games that they have participated in during the current campaign.

Sam Field has been booked on six occasions while his team-mates Stefan Johansen, Leon Balogun and Rob Dickie have all picked up three bookings.

Beale will be hoping that his side avoid any suspensions during the remainder of the campaign as being unable to call upon key players could hinder their chances of challenging for a play-off place.

Only West Bromwich Albion have a better record than QPR when it comes to this particular statistic as they have been shown 31 yellow cards.

However, while the Baggies have had one player sent-off this season, the R's have yet to have an individual dismissed by a referee.

Birmingham City, Reading, Stoke City and Millwall have also managed to avoid picking up a red card in the Championship this season.

Sunderland lead the way when it comes to accumulating yellow cards (54) while Blackpool have been shown five red cards which is a league-high total.

Three of these red cards were distributed in their clash with Sheffield United last month which ended in a 3-3 draw at Bramall Lane.

Blackpool's lack of discipline has hindered their progress this season as they are currently in the relegation zone.

By maintaining their relatively impressive discipline record and regaining their confidence, there is no reason why QPR cannot push on under the guidance of Beale in the coming months.
