Aston Villa face QPR tonight in the next thrilling instalment of their quest to reach the Premier League after a two season absence.

Having won eight of the last ten, Villa are one of the in-form sides in the Championship and moved to within four points of second-placed Cardiff after demolishing leaders Wolves 4-1 at the weekend.

They haven't lost in the league at Villa Park since November, but midfielder Mile Jedinak has urged them to remain focused and keep the pressure on their promotion rivals.

“There’s no resting," Jedinak told the Express and Star. "It is literally recover and then prepare for the next game, but when you are on the sort of run we are, that is what you want. Everyone is on a high after Saturday but everyone is focused and not getting too carried away."

They face a QPR side with just one win in their last four outings, but Jedinak acknowledges that Villa must not become complacent.

“We know we’ve got a responsibility on Tuesday night and we need to come out and give the same performance, same energy and same discipline to get us over the line against QPR.”

The Australian midfielder knows Ian Holloway well having played for him at Crystal Palace, before his switch to Villa Park in 2016.

“Ollie always puts his teams out to have a go so they will be on the front foot for sure and we’re going to have to be right at it to hurt them.”

The Verdict

Of course, Villa are overwhelming favourites this evening. QPR recently shipped five at home to Nottingham Forest and have been consistently inconsistent throughout the season. Villa look rampant at the moment, they've hit form at the right time and took Wolves apart with ease this weekend. Jedinak is right to warn against complacency, but I can't see them falling into that trap. I expect them to push the top two right down to the final day of the season.
