After a very quiet summer with no new arrivals, Sheffield Wednesday have had a tough start to the season and are yet to pick up a win.

It will leave fans concerned as to the direction the club are heading, with a play-off push looking a long shot at the minute.

However, Jos Luhukay still has time to freshen up his squad in the loan market, which is open until the end of the month.

Yet, with the club not in the best financial shape, they could also look to reduce the wage bill by shipping out some players.

That would also ensure Luhukay is working with a tighter squad, enabling him to get some continuity in the team.

Here we look at TWO players who could leave the Owls in the coming week...

The experienced midfielder hasn't been used this season and seems to be way down the pecking order.

Wednesday have plenty of midfield options and Jones is unlikely to play this season providing the current group stay fit.

With his wages, combined with Jones surely wanting to play regularly given his age, a move would suit all parties.

Similarly, the former Burnley man hasn't got a look-in so far this season and it's hard to see where he does fit in.

Therefore, a move would benefit Boyd, who will also be looking to play regularly.

That's not going to happen this season, so Luhukay would be prepared to sanction a move for the 32-year-old.
