Huddersfield Town face a tough run of fixtures heading into December and begin it with the long trip to face Lee Johnson’s Bristol City.

The Terriers are continuing their turnaround and solid form under Danny Cowley as they avoided defeat in their last two games with 1-1 draws against Birmingham City and the Swansea City, both at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Cowley can feel somewhat disappointed that they didn’t take at least four points from these two fixtures but not losing is a good sign, given their form over the past 18 months. The Terriers’ form since the arrival of the Cowley's has been tremendous, seeing them climb from rock bottom in the Championship to 19th and moving to a safer place each week.

The games do not get easier for the West Yorkshire side, however, as they face the trip to Ashton Gate at the weekend to face play-off chasing Bristol City, with some faces set to return to the fold and others missing out still.

Here, we take a look at the starting lineup we expect Danny Cowley to field against the Robins on Saturday…

Since his arrival, Cowley has found a lot of comfort in the 4-2-3-1 formation which has given the side a lot of defensive stability but more attacking impetus, as he has alluded to many times when praising his side’s organisation.

Starting in goal for the Terriers will be on-loan Liverpool ‘keeper Kamil Grabara, who has grown in maturity since signing in the summer, gaining more and more confidence in between the sticks for Huddersfield. It’s also positive to note how well he has done despite how unsettled his defence has been since the start of the season, with the recent seven-game unbeaten run the only chance he has had to experience any consistency.

Along the back four will be Danny Simpson, Christopher Schindler, Jon Stankovic, and Lewis O’Brien. The centre-back pairing will remain the same from the past two games with Stankovic partnering instead of the injured Tommy Elphick and doing so very well.

The full-back slots have seen a lot of change in the past fortnight, with Simpson suffering injuries along with Jaden Brown. The former has been confirmed by Danny Cowley as training with of the travelling squad and the manager is hopeful he will be fit for the game.

In holding midfield will see another change as Trevoh Chalobah serves a three-match ban following his red card, which allows Juninho Bacuna to move from right-back into central midfield to partner Jonathan Hogg, who has been in strong form of late, protecting the defence.

Can you name the entire XI from Huddersfield's historic 2017 play-off triumph?

Playing in the attacking midfield trident will be Elias Kachunga, Alex Pritchard, and Karlan Grant. Pritchard started in Town’s last game against Swansea City and impressed playing in between the lines of the away side’s midfield and defence, picking up the ball in clever areas to shoot from range or find a key pass, something that the side have missed of late.

Playing as the lone-striker is the hard-working Frazier Campbell who has put in a terrific shift for the side of late and it is hard to justify why he should be dropped at the minute, even if his goal tally is lacking. Grant is more suited to the striker role but Campbell’s selfless work cannot be underestimated.
