Leeds United left it very, very late to secure a vital point in their hunt for a Premier League spot.

They looked to be losing their grip on promotion courtesy of Lewis Wing's early second half strike, especially as the clock wound into eleven minutes of injury time. Just as it seemed they were set for defeat, Kalvin Phillips popped up with a massive equaliser.

It was a great moment for the fans who had seen their side match their hosts, but it was also clearly appreciated by the players too. Recent arrival Kiko Casilla took to Twitter late on Saturday evening to express his delight at the result.

Tweeting in both English and Spanish, he paid tribute to opponents Boro, claiming they were a 'very difficult' team, but classed the draw as an 'important away point'.

It could prove to be just that later in the season, it kept Boro down in fifth place and matched Sheffield United's draw with Aston Villa from Friday night.

West Brom gained on the Whites, but only by two points as opposed to the full three. The big winners could be Norwich City, who face Ipswich Town later today.

Casilla joined Marcelo Bielsa's side from Real Madrid in January and has displaced Bailey Peacock-Farrell as the club's current number one.

The Verdict

Boro didn't exactly lay siege to the Leeds goal, but that isn't what they do. They managed three shots on target the whole game, with one of those resulting in Wing's goal.

Casilla will have had harder afternoons and there will be harder to come, but in terms of the point it might just prove to be crucial at the end of the season. Leeds aren't setting the world on fire right now, but neither are their title rivals.
