Losing just three of their opening 14 Championship games this season, Luton Town are currently fifth in the Championship table.

The Hatters, who have just embarked on their third season back in England's second-tier are hoping to build on their 12th-placed finish last time out.

Only QPR and the division's top three sides have scored more goals than The Hatters this season, with Luton's superior goal difference aiding them to hold a play-off position.

The Hatters will be hoping to return to Bedfordshire with three points when they visit Preston North End this weekend.

Frankie McAvoy's side are currently in 19th position, having drawn six out of their last nine Championship games.

Here, we take a look at how Luton could line up to face Preston at the weekend...

Simon Sluga has already kept seven clean sheets for The Hatters this season, in what has been another season of firmly establishing himself as the club's number 1 choice, and for that reason, another start is near enough guaranteed.

Kal Naismith missed Luton's 1-0 victory over Hull City last Saturday through suspension, but he is likely to be thrown straight back into the starting line up.

Tom Lockyer and Sonny Bradley both put in excellent performances against The Tigers to limit them to very little and are likely to be trusted again.

James Bree and Amari'i Bell are proving to be more than competent defenders, and when operating as wing-backs, they have the attacking drive and quality to support and link the play.

Luke Berry is expected to miss Luton's trip to Lancashire, and as a result, Henri Lansbury could come back in.

He is likely to partner Glen Rea, who has been brilliant since returning to Luton's starting XI at the end of September, whilst Jordan Clark should operate slightly ahead of the aforementioned duo.

Given that he is fit enough, as he was taken off at half time against Hull, Elijah Adebayo should start, whilst Harry Cornick is likely to operate next to him.

This would mean that Fred Onyedinma misses out, but it is likely that he will be given a large amount of time on the pitch if Luton are finding it difficult to break Preston down.
