Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki has signalled his sides’ intent to win promotion this season as we head into the closing stages of the season.

The 30-year-old has been key in the Tigers’ impressive season and has called on his teammates and the fans to keep going right until the end.

Taking to Twitter and writing in his native Polish, Grosicki’s message roughly translated as:

“Never give up.

“There are only eight games left until the end of the season - our goal is sixth place and we play in playoffs for promotion to @premierleague.

“Come On Tigers.”

He is having the best season of his Hull career since arriving at the club two summers ago, scoring five times and assisting nine more.

Nigel Adkins’ side currently sit in 12th place on 51 points with just eight matches left to play, seven points behind Aston Villa who currently occupy the final spot in the top-six.

This weekend sees them travel to rock-bottom Ipswich Town where they will be hopeful of closing the gap further.

The verdict

Grosicki is absolutely right here.

Until it is mathematically impossible to win promotion, why not keep the faith and keep going?

The club have had a brilliant season, predicted to be fighting relegation but sitting well clear of the drop zone, so anything from now on is a bonus.
