Lewis Grabban has remained coy on his Aston Villa future, as he prepares for what could be his final game in claret and blue tomorrow afternoon.

The 30-year-old arrived at Villa Park on-loan from Bournemouth late in the January transfer window, playing a crucial role in helping Steve Bruce’s side reach the Sky Bet Championship play-off final.

Villa face Fulham at Wembley tomorrow afternoon, with the winner set to join Wolves and Cardiff City back in the Premier League next season.

That clash at Wembley could be Grabban’s last appearance in claret and blue, with the striker’s loan deal expiring in the summer and no deal in place to make a move permanent.

Discussing his future with the Birmingham Mail, Grabban was unable to elaborate on where he will be playing his football next season.

The striker said: “I can’t really comment on what the future is going to hold. I have enjoyed my time here and we will see what happens in the summer.

“I still have another year at Bournemouth. It is pretty much in the air.

“I have enjoyed it here and hopefully it can be a success.”

The 30-year-old has eight goals to his name during his spell with Villa, with Grabban’s goals leading Villa to the play-off final.

Prior to his move to Villa Park, Grabban spent the first-half of the season on-loan with Sunderland, which brought 12 Championship goals.

The striker’s 20-goal tally over the course of the season is only bettered by Derby County’s Matej Vydra.

The Verdict

A potential permanent move to Villa Park could depend on promotion to the Premier League, which is perhaps why Grabban’s future remains up in the air.

After such a prolific year, the striker will have options in the summer, with the play-off final another big stage for him to prove his quality.

Villa’s supporters will surely be keen to see Grabban return, particularly if he can prove to be one of their play-off heroes.
