Sheffield United travel to Ipswich tomorrow desperate for a win to close the three-point gap on the top six after a heavy defeat to Fulham last time out.

As for Mick McCarthy’s men, back-to-back victories has left them seven points away from sixth, although they do have a game in hand. So whilst it’s a long shot, they will have a little bit of hope of making the play-offs.

Therefore, it’s fair to say that this is a must-win for both sides which should make it an intriguing game at Portman Road.

Both would be seriously overachieving if they were to make the top six so credit must go to the manager’s for getting the most out of their squads.

Here we look at a combined XI of the two teams ahead of tomorrow’s game.

The Polish stopper is arguably the best keeper in the division given the consistent performances he has put in over the years.

McCarthy will know all about former player Stearman who he has managed at Wolves and Ipswich. The 30-year old is very capable at this level.

Another experienced defender, Chambers has been a regular in defence for the Tractor Boys.

O’Connell has really excelled as a left-sided centre-back. He is very strong and aggressive in his play but can also bring the ball out from the back.

With a real willingness to get forward and quality on the ball, Baldock has had a very good season as a right wing-back for the Blades.

The former Bristol City man is a hardworking player that all his teammates will appreciate. He has a real work ethic and good positional sense.

The Scotsman is technically superb and even though Wilder has many midfielders to choose from, Fleck will always start.

This was a tough call as Enda Stevens is a capable left wing-back too but Knudsen is that little bit better defensively.

The talented youngster is fit for the game at Portman Road even though he has had a long spell out.

However, he has to get in the team. The fact that Spurs are regularly linked with him highlights his quality. A potential matchwinner at this level.

A shrewd signing from Rangers in the summer. Ipswich’s top scorer who also works very hard for the team just gets the nod ahead of teammate Joe Garner who has ten for the season himself.

Even though his form has dropped in recent months, you can’t ignore Clarke who has 15 goals for the campaign. His all-round game has also come on a lot.
