Sheffield Wednesday return to action from the international break when they travel to Cardiff to take on Neil Warnock's side on Friday evening.

The Owls head into the game in an inconsistent run of form, which they'll be eager to put right as the season progresses.

Garry Monk's side are currently sat eighth in the Championship table and will move into the play-off places with a win on the night.

But how can we expect Sheffield Wednesday to line-up against the Bluebirds on Friday?

Find out below....

It seems highly unlikely that we'll see many changes from the side that beat Wigan Athletic by a goal to nil before the international break.

A certain starter in this game is Keiren Westwood, who has been hugely impressive for Garry Monk's side this season, and he'll be keen to add to his clean sheet tally, which currently stands at three.

Liam Palmer was in action for Scotland over the international break, and will be hoping to continue his run in the Owls XI against Neil Warnock's men.

Garry Monk has recently revealed in a pre-match press conference ahead of the game that Tom Lees isn't going to be fit in time to take on the Bluebirds.

That means that Dominic Iorfa is set to retain his place in the starting XI alongside Julian Borner, with the pair putting in some strong performances before the international break.

Massimo Luongo came through training in midweek which will be a boost for the Owls, with the midfielder being substituted with an injury against Wigan.

He's likely to be partnered in the centre of midfield by Barry Bannan, with the Scotsman making ten league appearances so far for Garry Monk's side.

Kadeem Harris has been one of Sheffield Wednesday's best players this season going forward, and he'll be hoping to prove a point to his former club in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Harris has two goals and one assist to his name so far in their league campaign, and his pace and trickery will cause Cardiff a number of problems on the night.

There could be one change in attack, with Monk potentially being tempted to playing two strikers in this one, as opposed to one which we saw against Wigan.

Atdhe Nuhiu could be the man to come back into the starting XI, with the striker putting in an impressive performance for Kosovo last week.

Fernando Forestieri is set to return to the first team squad, after serving his six-game suspension for using racist language towards Mansfield Town's Krystian Pearce in July 2018, but he might have to make do with a place on the substitutes bench with the good form shown by Steven Fletcher who has five goals to his name to date.
