Blackburn Rovers will look to make it three wins from as many games on Saturday afternoon, when they travel to the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City.

Back to back wins at home to Barnsley and Brentford have seen Tony Mowbray's side climb to 13th in the Championship standings since the November international break, as they look to follow up on the early season optimism there was around the club.

Stoke meanwhile will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat under new manager Michael O'Neill - a 1-0 defeat at Cardiff on Tuesday - and could see a Blackburn side with just two away league wins all season as a decent opportunity to do that.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at the starting XI that Mowbray could name to take on the Potters this weekend.

Having produced arguably their best performance of the season so far in that win over Brentford on Wednesday, it seems unlikely that Mowbray will want to change to much for the trip to the Potteries this weekend.

In goal, Brighton loanee Christian Walton should continue his run of starting every league game this season, having looked more assured against Brentford than he has done on other occasions in recent weeks.

While Mowbray has admitted to having some concerns about whether 35-year-old Stewart Downing could manage another match this week, the quality with which he performed at left-back on Wednesday means he should once again get the nod over Amari'i Bell this weekend.

With Derrick Williams still out injured, Darragh Lenihan and Tosin Adarabioyo should continue in the centre of defence, although one change could come at right-back, with Ryan Nyambe facing a late fitness check after limping off with cramp late on against Brentford. If the Namibian does not make it, then captain Elliott Bennett should replace him in the XI on Saturday, just as he did from the bench in midweek.

Although Mowbray admitted after the Brentford win that he sometimes leaves Corry Evans out of the side to annoy him so as to get the best out of the Northern Irishman, the quality of his performance against the Bees means he is surely deserving of another starting spot in the centre of midfield alongside Lewis Travis, also giving him the chance to play in front of his international manager in the shape of O'Neill.

Further forward, Adam Armstrong and Joe Rothwell will surely have to continue on the right and left of attacking midfield respectively, after both gave Brentford's defence plenty of problems on Wednesday, while Bradley Dack should continue his record as the only outfield player to start every league game this season off the back of three goals in his last two matches.

Despite Mowbray expressing the same concerns about the fitness of Danny Graham as he has about Downing, the 34-year-old should still lead the line for Blackburn on Saturday, thanks to both his significant influence at that end of the field, and the fact that aggravating the hamstring injury that kept Sam Gallagher out of Wednesday's win, doesn't feel like something worth risking.
