Tony Pulis took-over at Middlesbrough following stints with Crystal Palace and West Brom.

The manager was famed for his solid nature and how he has never been relegated - he made his name at Gillingham and especially Stoke.

Boro were a club that were recently relegated and whether they could return to the top flight was uncertain.

Pulis came in and revamped the training methods, instilling a belief that Boro could go up again, and it is showing in their football.

Whether they can go up this year or not is unknown, due to a recent dip in form, but with Pulis in charge, they will certainly be up there.

Here, we look at THREE words that sum up Pulis’ time so far at the Riverside.

Do you agree, or can you think of three better words to sum up his time? Let us know in the comments section below.

As with all Tony Pulis sides, Middlesbrough are solid. Until the visit of Nottingham Forest, they hadn’t conceded at home this season, which is testament to Pulis.

Despite a dip in form, with Pulis in charge, Boro stand a good chance.

The side looks well drilled and structured, with each man knowing where to be on the field whether in or out of possession.

They are hard to beat and also very good on the ball, making them a force in the play-off race.

Although it has been good, there are still some doubts, so ‘nearly’ would be a good word, as Boro are nearly there.

At times, they look like promotion candidates, but on odd occasion, they look poor. If Pulis can fix this, Boro will be up there come May.
