After their relegation last season, Barnsley will be hoping to bounce back to the second tier at the first time of asking.

They were relegated on the final day of last season, but summer appointment Daniel Stendel has done a good job of turning the club around to ensure they will be challenging.

The Tykes currently sit in fourth place in the League One standings and just four points behind Sunderland, who currently occupy the final automatic promotion spot.

Stendel's attack has been the biggest eye-catcher so far from Barnsley's performances, with his free-flowing style of play earning the club plenty of plaudits.

The likes of Brad Potts, Mamadou Thiam, Alex Mowatt and George Moncur have formed an excellent creative unit behind striker, Kieffer Moore.

A signing made in January, Moore has been in excellent form in the third tier scoring eight goals in the 16 appearances so far.

What words would be used to some up his season so far?

The striker has been absolutely essential.

He has the ability to play just as effectively on his own as he does in a pair and has been crucial to the Tykes' impressive start.

Despite scoring eight goals, five of those came in just two games.

He has therefore been a tad inconsistent, going on three-game drought at the start of the campaign and then a worrying five-game one as well.

He does have a tendency to drift in and out of games.

There have been moments this season where the game has been crying out for a striker who will throw himself about a bit and make a nuisance of himself.

This is an area that he needs to work on.
