Henri Lansbury has had a frustrating year or two at Aston Villa and has gone from one of the division's most sought after stars, to an unwanted player.

Under ex-boss Steve Bruce, Lansbury was out of favour. Bruce rarely even gave Lansbury a chance on the bench, never mind the starting line-up.

Now, under Dean Smith, the thoughts were that Lansbury’s fortunes may change.

With a new boss, many thought that Lansbury would be given a chance to shine in the first team. Smith was to come in with lots of fresh ideas and every player was to be looked at with a clean slate, according to some fans.

That is not the case, thus far anyway. Lansbury is still yet to feature under Smith and it may be time to move on.

It is strange because Lansbury was by far one of the best Championship midfielders at Nottingham Forest, but he is completely out of the picture at Villa Park.

Here, we look at THREE words that sum up Lansbury’s time at Aston Villa….

His stint has been frustrating for both player and the fans. The Villa faithful obviously see the talent and probably wonder just why he is so disarrayed.

For Lansbury, he probably wonders why Smith won’t give him a chance, even off the bench.

Maybe Smith will gift Lansbury a chance and this could make or break his career – if not, he may force a move in January.

It is obvious that Lansbury isn’t wanted.

The once star of Nottingham Forest cannot get a game under a number of bosses and the reasons for this are relatively unclear.

Obviously, if two managers feel the same, something Lansbury is doing is wrong – potentially his attitude in training.

The feeling is reciprocal. By now, it isn’t just the fact Villa don’t want Lansbury, it may be more that Lansbury doesn’t want Villa.

After having to watch from the stands a lot, surely January can’t come quick enough for Lansbury, who will seek a move in the transfer window if the situation persists.
