Blackburn Rovers have adapted to the second tier relatively well after their promotion last season.

Tony Mowbray’s side sit in a respectable 12th place in the table after 15 matches on 22 points, having returned to the Championship this year.

Rovers have only been defeated three times and have lost just once at home this year having previously had a 25 game unbeaten run at Ewood Park.

Having started the seasons so well, Rovers have tailed off a little bit and slipped down to the middle third of the table in recent weeks.

Blackburn had some tricky fixtures having had to go up against the likes of West Brom, Leeds and Sheffield United - teams that are thought to be amongst the favourites for promotion to the Premier League.

It was a tougher month after two successful ones to kick-off the campaign as they head deeper into the winter months with November approaching.

With that said, however, here are three words that sum up Blackburn's October in a nutshell.

Two wins, two defeats and a draw adorn the record books for Blackburn’s October on their return to the Championship.

The month started with a defeat before back-to-back-wins lifted spirits and set them on their way to an improved set of result.

That wasn’t forthcoming with an away defeat before ending the month with a draw.

It was an indifferent set of results that looked for all the world would turn into a winning run before that poor performance away at Swansea.

In October, Blackburn scored five goals - and they were all scored by five different players.

There is always a need, for any team to do well, to get goals from all over the pitch.

That is something that is even more important when teams ply their trade in the Championship.

So it would have been pleasing to Tony Mowbray that goals were plentiful and from five different players.

Rovers also only failed to score in one of their five matches during the month.

Having come up from League One last year, Blackburn fans would have looked at October as one of their toughest months in the campaign.

The fixtures did not fall kindly for the Lancashire side, and Tony Mowbray will deem the points return acceptable having started well and dipped in recent weeks.

Had Rovers been top and recorded those results it might be a different story but considering they are looking to settle in the division; their October wasn’t too bad in the grand scheme of things.
