Stoke City defender Harry Clarke is expected to be out for several weeks after picking up a shin injury, Michael O'Neill has confirmed to Stoke on Trent Live.

The on loan Arsenal defender has started the season in strong form with this latest update certainly coming as a blow for O'Neill and the Potters.

Here, we take a look at three right-wing-backs that O'Neill should cast his eyes over after detailing that his side will look to dip back into the market.

Regan Poole

It is interesting to see that Regan Poole has not attracted much transfer interest, given the evident quality he has.

The Lincoln City full-back, who won the club's Player of the Season award last time out, has been excellent over the last couple of seasons for the Imps.

Not only can Poole operate as a wing-back or a full-back, he is also able to play on the right side of a back three, with that kind of versatility making him an attractive option in the here and now, and also in the future.

Lincoln are likely to hold a relatively sizeable valuation for the young defender, however, he is a Championship player who can grow with the ambitions of the club.

Ethan Laird

Ethan Laird may be close to sealing a loan switch to QPR but if previous transfer windows are anything to go by, situations can change by the minute.

Given that there is now an evident need for the Potters to add a right-wing-back, they could turn their attention to the exciting Manchester United man.

A pacey, creative option, he has also proven to display the required defensive abilities.

Marlon Fossey

It is quite remarkable that Marlon Fossey is yet to find a Championship club for the season, after what was a mightily impressive spell with Bolton Wanderers last season.

A player who needs regular game time to try and force his way into the Fulham set up in the future, a move to Stoke would certainly help him achieve that.

Fossey emerged as one of, if not the best attacking wing-back in League One last season and deserves a Championship move, with Stoke an exciting possibility.
