Stoke City have had a very effective transfer window so far, with Gary Rowett building a very good squad ahead of his first season in charge of the Potters.

Tom Ince was the latest arrival at the bet365 Stadium, following James McClean, Benik Afobe and Nigerian international Oghenekaro Etebo as the major incomings for the Staffordshire club.

Whilst Xherdan Shaqiri has departed, you could make a strong case to say that Stoke are virtually as strong, if not better, than the team they had last season.

They also had a major boost with Joe Allen signing a new deal to remain at the club as they look to bounce back to

the Premier League at the first attempt.

However, Rowett will still want more in the final two weeks before the deadline.

Here we look at three ways Stoke could round off a perfect summer window…

This would’ve seemed unthinkable at one stage but now you’re not sure where the keeper will go.

Liverpool and Wolves, who had been linked with the player, have signed Alisson and Rui Patricio respectively and not many other top-flight clubs need a number one.

Chelsea could come calling and that will be a worry but Stoke will hope they can keep the stopper, as they did with Allen, and it would send out a real statement to the division.

The chief reason for the Potters relegation was a lack of goals, they didn’t have that clinical striker.

Whilst Afobe guarantees goals at this level, Rowett will surely want another option to ease the pressure on the former Wolves man.

Bringing in another striker would round this window off and should mean Stoke start the season with arguably the best squad in the league.

Stoke have a lot of players, who are likely to be big earners, that won’t be needed next season and reducing the wage bill has to be a priority.

If the likes of Ibrahim Afellay, Papa Ndiaye, Gianni Imbula and Sadio Berahino remain at the club, along with others who may want to move on.

Rowett needs to decide who is in his plans, and shift those who aren’t needed to avoid any problems in the dressing room like last season.
