Three points separate the Blades from the play-off spots heading into the weekend's round of fixtures and Blades fans will be confident their side can close the gap on the top-six as the season draws to a close.

Boss Chris Wilder must be applauded for his exploits since taking the job at Bramall Lane, following up the League One title with a sustained play-off push in the South Yorkshire side's first year back at the higher level.

All to play for with four games to go, Wilder must rally his troops to ensure that the race goes down to the final day and these three issues need urgently addressing in the next few weeks...

This is a given, but one win from their past five games has seen the Blades fall from the top-six and this simply must change in the final games.

Wilder got his men back on track with an essential 2-1 win over play-off rivals Middlesbrough in the week and his side have to build upon such a solid display when they entertain another top-six rival in the form of surprise package Millwall on Saturday afternoon.

A win over the Lions would open up the field once again and being the Blades back into contention, with many of their rivals set to play each other in the closing weeks of the campaign.

No clean sheet in four is a worrying sign at such a late stage and with so much to play for, Wilder will have worked hard in training this week to ensure his back line are well aware of their responsibilities going forward.

The old cliché of not conceding guarantees a point couldn't be anymore suitable for the club's current position and with the attacking talent they have at their disposal, you wouldn't bet against the Bramall Lane side taking all three points when they record a defensive shut-out.

Young central defender Jack O'Connell has been excellent all season and must rally his fellow defenders, with their success in the closing perhaps being defined by the performances of the former Brentford man and his colleagues at the back.

Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman has occupied the net for much of the season but hasn't featured in the last three outings having been shown a straight red card against Brentford several weeks ago.

Back in contention this weekend, Wilder has a decision to make between the youngster and the experienced Simon Moore.

Moore failed to keep a clean sheet during his three-game tenure, but a string of fine saves in that spell ensured the Blades picked up points.

An imminent decision for the Blades boss, this could determine whether they make the play-offs or not.

Blades fans, thoughts?
